Worrier to Warrior, a step by step kit to correct anxiety and panic attacks is different from other books and programs available. It is a ‘how to’ or ‘do it yourself’’ program that will enable you to understand what is occurring, insight to how the anxiety/panic attacks got started and ultimately, how to end the vicious cycle, which you may have found out only gets worse, manifesting as a panic attack and spiraling down into what is called an anxiety dis-order where your life becomes severely limited. In over 24 years in private practice, I have created a protocol that corrects anxiety and panic attacks in three sessions. If you follow the program precisely, use the tools within the kit, pay attention to all the specific details I point out, you will be completely successful and never have a full blown panic attack again, and manage anxieties as they occur over a life time. You will learn that it is your thinking that flips the “on” switch to the fight or flight or freeze response, which is your survival mechanism gone awry. You do not need to agree with everything I say, philosophies. Such as I will state you are a mind, body, spirit… if you take exception to the word ‘spirit’, which is energy… change the word to; ‘an electrical feedback system’. Do pay close attention to words and language you are personally using, because they are either empowering you or disempowering you, period. I will ask you to be the mind or thought police for a period of time, to recognized how you are repeatedly programming yourself opposite of your desires and desired experiences in life, from solace to life success, or as the title implies; Worrier to Warrior. Understand this clearly, you are not broken, it is simply a kink in your thinking process, and being YOU are the one choosing what thoughts to focus upon, you can change the thoughts that create the cycle of anxieties, and what is setting off panic attacks. You are an unending horizon, be prepared to change the rest of your life and how you experience it. Words that Empower IX has been a labor of love over many years. It is wisdom from around the globe, from many ages, philosophies, thoughts on life, spirituality and poetry. Perhaps you have never heard of some of these voices such as Rumi, also known as Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī, Mawlānā/Mevlânâ, and more popularly simply as Rumi, was a 13th-century Persian poet, jurist, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic. Lao Tsu, Laozi was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. He is known as the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching and the founder of philosophical Taoism, and as a deity in religious Taoism and traditional Chinese religions. Born: 605 BC, China. Or closer to home, Black Elk; Heȟáka Sápa was a famous wičháša wakȟáŋ and heyoka of the Oglala Lakota who lived in the present-day United States, primarily South Dakota. He was a second cousin of the war chief Crazy Horse. You will also discover the wisdom of Buddha, Mother Theresa, Confucius and what I have learned upon the journey of a life time. Whatever your belief system, you will find that across time all philosophies speak a common language, echoing from many voices and perspectives. There may be no absolutes in life, but Truths hold firm and true. I sum it up this way: You Are An Unending Horizon. You are part and parcel of All that Is and above all, you are an expression of perfect love, here and now. Many of us feel as though we have to earn love, acceptance. Untrue. Who and what your are at your essential level, your Spirit, is perfect, whole and unique. Trust yourself, trust your life. We are here for experiences and to love. That’s it. Kate
From physician and neuroscientist Russell Kennedy, MD comes an award-winning book that offers a revolutionary, life-changing approach to healing anxiety. Break the cycle of anxiety with the newly upgraded and expanded second edition. After years of trying different therapies for his debilitating anxiety without success, Dr. Russell Kennedy had an epiphany: anxiety does not start in the brain. Anxiety starts in the body, where trauma is stored and physical and emotional perception begin. Alarm bells originating in the body are what trigger those anxious thoughts that we call anxiety, and Russ realized that true healing starts only when we learn not to conflate the two. He understood that existing therapies focused only on the mind would never get to the root of the problem—at best, they could help manage symptoms, but they’d never truly heal anxiety. Wanting to make a difference for the millions who suffer from anxiety disorder, Russ created Anxiety Rx, a book that blends his personal story with medical science, neuroscience, and developmental psychology. Readers learn how to sever the connection between the somatic alarm and the flood of anxious thoughts—in the process they begin to heal old trauma and gain a sense of control previously unknown. Russ offers techniques not only for our thinking minds, but for our feeling bodies, changing not just our mindset, but our “body-set.” Unraveling the intricate relationship between anxiety, the body, and the mind, Anxiety Rx offers a profound path toward healing and growth.
This is the first comprehensive guide for parents of children with Dual and Multiple Exceptionality (DME, sometimes called Twice Exceptionality or 2E). Children with high learning potential may also have conditions such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, having 'flashes of brilliance' in some areas whilst needing additional support in others. As a result, their abilities may not always be recognised in an educational setting. This book takes a strengths-based approach towards helping parents recognise and focus on their child's areas of potential to support them towards better attainment and self-esteem, and build on these abilities while also identifying and addressing areas of difficulty. It provides an understanding of the mixed learning profile of DME children, explaining why they excel in some areas but not others, as well as guidance for parents on working positively with schools and providing their child with the support they need. With stories, quotes from parents and examples throughout, this is an essential guide to helping DME children achieve their full untapped potential.

One cause of the behavioral, emotional and mental torment in a person's life is the psychological trauma that results from the actions and words of parents and others. This volume examines the effect of such trauma on a child's development and how the resulting torment eventually brings this child as an adult to psychotherapy.

A groundbreaking guide for women of all ages that shows their natural moodiness is a strength, not a weakness As women, we learn from an early age that our moods are a problem, an annoyance to be stuffed away. But our bodies are wiser than we imagine. Moods are a finely tuned feedback system that allows us to be more empathic, intuitive, and aware of our own capabilities. If we deny our emotionality, we deny the breadth of our talents. Yet millions of American women are medicating away their emotions with psychiatric drugs whose effects are more far-reaching than most of us realize. And even if we don’t pop a pill, women everywhere are numbing their emotions with food, alcohol, and a host of addictive behaviors that deny the wisdom of our bodies and keep us from addressing the real issues we face. Psychiatrist Julie Holland knows there is a better way. In Moody Bitches, she shares insider information about the drugs we’re being offered and the direct link between food and mood, and she offers practical advice on sex, exercise, and sleep strategies, as well as some surprisingly effective natural therapies. In the tradition of Our Bodies, Our Selves, this groundbreaking guide will forge a much needed new path in women’s health—and offer women invaluable information on how to live better, and be more balanced, at every stage of life.
Do you ever wonder what is happening inside your brain when you feel anxious, panicked, and worried? In Rewire Your Anxious Brain, psychologist Catherine Pittman and author Elizabeth Karle offer a unique, evidence-based solution to overcoming anxiety based in cutting-edge neuroscience and research. In the book, you will learn how the amygdala and cortex (both important parts of the brain) are essential players in the neuropsychology of anxiety. The amygdala acts as a primal response, and oftentimes, when this part of the brain processes fear, you may not even understand why you are afraid. By comparison, the cortex is the center of “worry.” That is, obsessing, ruminating, and dwelling on things that may or may not happen. In the book, Pittman and Karle make it simple by offering specific examples of how to manage fear by tapping into both of these pathways in the brain. As you read, you’ll gain a greater understanding how anxiety is created in the brain, and as a result, you will feel empowered and motivated to overcome it. The brain is a powerful tool, and the more you work to change the way you respond to fear, the more resilient you will become. Using the practical self-assessments and proven-effective techniques in this book, you will learn to literally “rewire” the brain processes that lie at the root of your fears.
