There is a town where two highways intersect in the state of Indiana. This is the town of Patience. A boring old town, but filled with lots of history as is any random town in the middle of nowhere. This town is different though. Patience has had lots of issues that seem to just be thrown under the rug. Issues that seem to be forgotten quickly. For instance, there is an average of six disappearances every year, but it doesn't seem to cause the police in the town to look too much into them. The most that gets done is the putting up of missing person posters. Another is how not many remember how the town came to be. There are no public records of how the town came to be or who the original settlers were. Patience is a mystery within itself that only a few know the answers to. Patience has been the place where people move to and either disappear or move away in the middle of the night. There are few who have actually lived in the town their whole lives. The fluctuations are so inconsistent with the population that no one tries to keep up with it. Out of any place in Patience, the main place where people disappear is within the woods on the north side of town. This is where lots of people like to camp or they cut through to get into the lake for free. Most disappearances are told by the papers due to coyote attacks or just getting lost. This is why they leave lots of posters around telling people to always leave a trail, so they don't end up like the rest. Patience is the town of Parke county that is ran by posters, from the missing persons to the welcome posters. No matter from what way that someone can enter the town, they will find themselves looking at a poster. The only kind of poster that isn't found in this town are "thanks for visiting" posters, but that is due to everyone leaving their homes to be foreclosed with all of their belongs inside. Even though Patience is the main town of Parke county, there are other places that give life and have interesting histories to look upon. The oddities of Patience have been noticed all over the back roads of Parke county with its covered bridges that span all around the county. Some easily found while others seem hidden. These covered bridges are the reason the county still makes money, for once a year in the fall is a festival to celebrate the historical significance of these outdated bridges. People come from far to just see them. People also come to buy the things that are made in the county, but no matter where they come from, they will always find themselves running into a poster.
