#1 New York Times Bestseller Oprah's Book Club 2016 Selection "Riveting...a worthy investment...this book has real wisdom." --New York Times Book Review "A book with so much painful truth packed into its pages that every person who's ever married or plans to marry should really give it a read." -- Chicago Tribune "Provocative... I adore her honesty, her vulnerability, and her no-nonsense wisdom, and I know you will, too." -- Oprah Winfrey "This memoir isn't really about Glennon rebuilding her relationship with her husband; it is about Glennon rebuilding her relationship with herself. Utterly refreshing and... badass." -- Bustle.com A memoir of betrayal and self-discovery by bestselling author Glennon Doyle, Love Warrior is a gorgeous and inspiring account of how we are all born to be warriors: strong, powerful, and brave; able to confront the pain and claim the love that exists for us all. This chronicle of a beautiful, brutal journey speaks to anyone who yearns for deeper, truer relationships and a more abundant, authentic life.
When the worthless treaties were signed and it was time to move the Ho-Chunk/Winnebago nation, the people took only what they could carry on their backs. There isnt a person alive today who can describe the atrocities, hardships, and deprivation their ancestors faced while being moved from their land to a strange place, unable to travel or live where their ancestors were buried. No longer could they provide food and lodging for their families; they had to depend on the government for monthly rations of food, blankets, and medical attention. Every Warrior Has His Own Song explores the history and culture of the Winnebago and Ho-Chunk peoples, as well as the personal history of the family of author Alan B. Walker. Patriotic and fiercely loyal to this country and the land of their ancestors, they show respect to the returning veterans of any war. As Walker grew older, he knew that he wanted to be a warrior and wondered if he had the right stuff; in the course of his exploration of his peoples culture, he also tells the story of his service in Vietnam. Every Warrior Has His Own Song touches on the history and modern life of the Ho- Chunk/Winnebago nation as well as the story of the Hatchett family, telling a timeless and relevant tale of bravery. It is an amazing read. I had a hard time putting it down. I believe this book should be a part of every high schools history teachings. It angered me to see what the U.S. Government has done over and over to these Native American Indians. Why have a treaty if you're not going to stand behind it? I was also amazed by the courage of this writer. His service to this country, like his Grandfathers is one of pride and courage. I'm amazed and glad that Alan B. Walker lived through the Vietnam war so that his story and that of his people could be told. -Aron

How do you kill a god? As her father's chosen heir, eighteen-year-old Rasmira has trained her whole life to become a warrior and lead her village. But when her coming-of-age trial is sabotaged and she fails the test, her father banishes her to the monster-filled wilderness with an impossible quest: To win back her honor, she must kill the oppressive god who claims tribute from the villages each year or die trying.
My husband pushed back his chair and dropped to his knees in front of me. His head bowed -- he spoke in a stream like a prayer. "I die when I am in the past, how dost ye know when tae declare me dead? You could decide it, call me dead, and I canna blame ye for it. Because I am. But I daena want tae be, I want tae live -- with ye." -- Magnus 1702 There are things left undone. Magnus must go home and Kaitlyn must go with him. Because it's not enough for her to guide from afar. He needs her voice in his ear. They know now they are stronger together. He raised his eyes to mine and for a second time stood still. My mind said breathlessly, "Yes." And I swore I could hear him say, inside my head, deep and resonating, "Aye." -- Kaitlyn 2018 But Magnus learns there are cruel limits to his protection. Kaitlyn learns how dangerous it is to be responsible for a family. And together they learn that they have been at the mercy of someone far more brutal than they imagined. A contemporary romance with way more 18th century history and a bit more SciFi, Warrior of My Own is the third book in the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series. If you love mysterious, sexy, hunky heroes with desperate hearts and romantic thoughts, heroines with courage who are also very ordinary disasters, and love stories that encompass all time, then you'll love this romantic series. A transformational guide to getting yourself right in order to accomplish the work you were meant to do, from speaker, former U.S. Air Force officer, and member of the Ottawa tribe D.J. Vanas. When faced with an important job, and people depending on you to do it, most of us will give and give until there’s nothing left. But running on empty, even for a worthy cause, only sets you up for failure in the long run. To persevere on the path to success requires more than sheer fearlessness and willpower. It requires what D.J. Vanas calls the warrior spirit, the kind of strength that looks outward but comes from deep within. Drawing inspiration from Native American philosophy and tradition, The Warrior Within outlines a new model for personal power in the face of overwhelming chaos. A true warrior is not the toughest or bravest person in the room. A true warrior is committed to self-mastery, knows how to navigate change and disruption, transforms setbacks into opportunities for achievement, refuses to quit, and most importantly, always fights for something bigger than the self. With a vast array of stories and examples, from vision quests to treacherous hikes to veterans and service providers at the front lines, Vanas shows how to apply these principles to transform how you show up both for yourself and those around you. More than an empowerment manual, The Warrior Within is a call to accomplish the world-changing work you were meant for by tapping into the power of the warrior spirit.

WARS CHANGE, WARRIORS DON'T We are all warriors. Each of us struggles every day to define and defend our sense of purpose and integrity, to justify our existence on the planet and to understand, if only within our own hearts, who we are and what we believe in. Do we fight by a code? If so, what is it? What is the Warrior Ethos? Where did it come from? What form does it take today? How do we (and how can we) use it and be true to it in our internal and external lives? The Warrior Ethos is intended not only for men and women in uniform, but artists, entrepreneurs and other warriors in other walks of life. The book examines the evolution of the warrior code of honor and "mental toughness." It goes back to the ancient Spartans and Athenians, to Caesar's Romans, Alexander's Macedonians and the Persians of Cyrus the Great (not excluding the Garden of Eden and the primitive hunting band). Sources include Herodotus, Thucydides, Plutarch, Xenophon, Vegetius, Arrian and Curtius--and on down to Gen. George Patton, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and Israeli Minister of Defense, Moshe Dayan.
Fierce and fearless Sir Holden de Ware has been sent to Scotland to ally with the Gavin clan and secure the border—an easy conquest, he assumes, until he discovers that the impassioned warrior defending the castle is a woman. Fiery Cambria Gavin is not about to surrender her land. She blames Holden for her father’s death and—as proud and capable as any knight—she vows vengeance. But her sworn enemy proves gallant, courageous, and irresistible, and revenge becomes a double-edged sword as Cambria finds her blade...and her heart...hopelessly entangled with his.
A trick of magic, a twist of fate. As the orphaned nephew of the king, trusted companion to his cousin, and second heir to the throne of Skala, Prince Tobin’s future is clear. But not as clear as the spring in which a hill witch shows him his true face--and his secret destiny.... Now Tobin carries a burden he cannot share with even his closest friend, Ki, his squire. He is to rule--not as he is but as he was born: a woman. Given the shape of a boy by dark magic, Tobin is the last hope of the people of Illior--those who desperately seek a return to the old ways, when Skala was ruled by a line of warrior queens. They still believe that only a woman can lift the war, famine, and pestilence that have run rampant through the land since the king usurped his half sister’s throne. It is these outlaw wizards and witches who protect Tobin--and it is for them that Tobin must accept his fate. With the unsuspecting yet fiercely loyal Ki at his side, Tobin must turn traitor against the only blood ties he has left. He must lift the masks of Skala’s rulers to show their true colors--before he can reveal the power of the woman within himself.
