Colin Garnett grew up in Stockport, South Manchester, in a tough working-class culture. A teenage involvement with alcohol, amphetamines and violence led to an adult heroin addiction. For many years he was lost in a crime-and-drugs lifestyle and did time in twenty-seven different English prison and two military prisons. But on 17th June 1993, in a prison chapel, he turned to God with a heavy heart and received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. From that moment, God started to transform Colins life. Colin has become a highly effective evangelist with a very powerful ministry to those in prisons and their families, to those trapped in addictions and their families, and to the hearts and minds of developing youth. Colin and his wife Deanna now run The Bethesda Recovery Homes of South Africa where they are seeing a steady stream of individuals and families receiving reconciliation and freedom. In a world where werewolves rule and vampires are just the boy or girl next door, kids love anything that will scare the pants off them. But how do you separate fact from fiction? Do haunted houses, spooky ghosts, and UFOs have a place in history, or is it all just a bunch of hooey? Crawling with spine-tingly facts, eerie anecdotes, and fun information, this book is all about everything creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky. It's a perfect book for the bathroom library or to read by flashlight under the covers. Just don't tell kids how much real science and history they're actually learning!
Casey Rickert is in trouble. He's just lost his plane ticket back home to Kansas City in an unfriendly poker game. He has a Lit paper due on a book he's never read, and on top of everything else, even though he took off finals week to go surfing, his cutback still hasn't improved. But Casey's talent for getting into and out of trouble has earned him the nickname "The Wizard," and he views this latest assortment of predicaments merely as opportunities for yet another brilliant recovery. Lately, though, Casey's predilection for trouble seems to be outstripping even his own marvelously cosmic equilibrium. His brother Davy's death almost a year ago upended Casey's world and left him shaken, vulnerable, and hurtling from one disaster to the next. Wandering through Santa Barbara in a desperate attempt to get home, Casey's chance impersonation of Santa Claus opens up to him a hidden world of goodwill toward men, unanswered Christmas wishes, and beard itch. Still wearing the Santa suit, Casey embarks on a journey from Los Angeles to Kansas City, rediscovering kindness, hope, and love from the people he meets along the way. Michael Allin's The Christmas Kid is an inspiring story of redemption.

In July of 1999, Brax Bragg was on the brink of something big. After being published twice in the Mercer University literary review, he gleaned his lyrical poetry and set out to be the next Bob Dylan. Many nights of paying his dues while singing across the Southeast soon paid off for Bragg. He quickly went from a one-man minstrel to recording a CD with his new band. Shows were booked, and Bragg left for a short vacation before setting out on the road. All this was tragically cut short by a car accident which claimed the life of Bragg as well as his younger brother. Brax Bragg's unique creative gifts have not been lost. Bullet Proof Bible, a collection of Bragg's work, contains over 450 pieces of poetry, song lyrics, and essays as taken from his journals, notebooks, and personal writings. The selections are arranged in alphabetical order, and a detailed Appendix provides chronological information as well as other historical notes. Bullet Proof Bible reflects what Brax Bragg will always be--an innovative wordsmith and a keen perceiver of human behavior, blessed with the ability to make it sound unique.
