We published the first edition of the Vedic Astrology Practitioner Manual in March 2017. Many readers enquired about my notes on advanced topics. Finally, I am pleased to share my notes with all of you. In this book, I have covered Nonluminous planets or Upagrahas, Vivshotthari Dhasha, Vargas or Divisional Horoscopes, Grahas and Bala or Planetary Strength, Ashtakvarga, Gochara or Transits, and Nashtajataka or lost horoscopes. While making my notes I referred to many classical texts including Bruhat Parashara Hora Shastra, Hora Saar, Hora Shathak, Jatak Chandrika, Jatak Tatwam, Chandra Kala Nadi, Sarvartha Chintamani, Uttarkalamrutha, Shambhu Hora, Shripathi Paddhati, Faladeepika, Jataka Parijata, and Saravali. I hope you will thoroughly enjoy the content in the book.
As a student of Vedic Astrology, one of the challenges that I faced was to study classical texts. We have so much data and every text has some exceptional content. Most of the translators did not get a chance to validate the principles mentioned in the texts and due to this; the accuracy of translation was reduced. Over the period, I also felt that novice students of Astrology could progress faster if they get validated knowledge. This is also good for the development of Vedic Astrology. Therefore, I decided to publish my notes from various classical texts as a manual. This book consists of my notes from Brihat Parashari Hora, BrihatJatak, Brihat Samhita, Jataka Bharanam, Faladeepika, Saravali, Bhavartha Ratnakar, Muhurta Chintamani and Vishwakarmaprakash. It is a good reference book for a novice student of Vedic Astrology.

DEVELOPED UNDER THE SHADOWS of the Egyptian temples, Hellenistic astrology is an ancient form of divination inherited from Mesopotamian wisdom traditions. Distilled in Græco-Roman antiquity, and refined in the fires of philosophy and astronomy, it forms the bedrock of traditional western astrology (while also bearing profound similarities to Jyotish or Vedic astrology). Drawing on a body of Greek texts that have remained largely untranslated for almost two-thousand years, Demetra George brings the contemporary practice of astrology back to its ancient roots. Scholar, translator, and practitioner, her work reveals the potent cosmological veins that bear the lifeblood of traditional astrology. Ancient Astrology in Theory and Practice is, in essence, a training manual for the study and practice of Hellenistic astrology. In two volumes, it provides the complete foundations and detailed dynamics of ancient chart-reading techniques. Each volume and each technique is richly illustrated with diagrams, example charts, and practical exercises. Volume 1: Assessing Planetary Condition In ancient cosmology, the planetary divinities symbolised the hierarchy of forces that shape our lives in the sublunary world. Not all planets are created equal in a given nativity, however, and so the first step of the practicing astrologer is to assess the condition of each planet in a chart in order to determine its effectiveness (or lack thereof) in the native's life. To this end, this volume provides a series of rigorous methods for evaluating the condition of each planet in a birth chart through the lenses of classification (sect, gender, benefic/malefic), signs and rulerships (residences, reception, exaltation, trigons, bounds), the solar phase cycle (speed, direction, visibility, phase, phasis), lunar considerations (course, phases, bonding, nodes, bending, eclipses, prenatal lunation), and aspects (configurations, witnessing, testimony, bonification, maltreatment, adherence, overcoming, rays). Finally, it brings all of these factors together in a powerful synthesis that unlocks the layers of a chart with unrivaled precision.

This book unpacks the organized sets of practices that govern contemporary Asian medicine, from production of medications in the lab to their circulation within circuits and networks of all kinds, and examines the plurality of actors involved in such governance. Chapters analyze the process of industrialization and commercialization of Asian medicine and the ways in which the expansion of the market in Asian medicines has contributed to the inscription of products within a large system of governance, greatly dominated by global actors and the biomedical hegemony. At the same time, the contributors argue that local actors continue to play a major role in reshaping the regulations and their implementation, thus complexifying the trajectory of the remedies and their natures. Examining in particular the plurality of actors involved in governance and circulation, and the converging or conflicting logics actors follow in regard to negotiations and tensions that arise, the book brings a unique multi-layered contribution to the study of governance and circulation of Asian medicines, offering further proof of their fluidity and resilience. Filling a significant gap in the market by addressing circulation and governance of Asian medicines in Asian countries, including Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Singapore, this book will be of interest to students and scholars in the field of Asian studies, Asian culture and society, global health, Asian medicine, and medical anthropology.
Mathematics is a tricky subject. Those who love, enjoy it much and those who don’t, feel it’s boring. I have been taking Vedic Math programmes for last 6 years. One of the requests my pupils ask is short summary of Vedic Math techniques. So finally, I decided to come up with a short and simple book on easy Vedic Math techniques. This book does not cover everything in Vedic Math and this is just the trailer or feeler! You may read my other books to learn more aspects of Vedic Math. In this book, we will learn simple techniques of 4 basic methods in arithmetic i.e. Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. I am confident that this is fun and joyful journey to all the readers. I wish you all the best in this journey.
Classical acupuncture according to the philosophy of the heavenly stems and earthly branches uses the fundamental, cyclical rhythms of nature and life as a foundation for health and development. This book is one of the first of its kind in the western world to offer a practical and scholarly approach to applying this philosophy to clinical practice. This handbook guides the practitioner into a journey of better understanding of the self and provides the theoretical background to be able to confidently diagnose and treat patients. It offers invaluable insight into the use of Chinese philosophy, psychology and pulse diagnosis.
