This book introduces the ultimate performance analysis tool (uPATO) as a new software to compute social network metrics in the scope of team sports analysis. The reader will identify the algorithms to test the general properties of the team, the co-dependencies and the centrality levels of players, i.e. to evaluate the individual, sub-group, and team performance analysis. As uPATO tool implements the metrics for all options, namely for unweighted graphs, weighted graphs, unweighted digraphs and weighted digraphs, it is also useful for network analysis into other areas beyond team sports. The book assists the reader to compute the metrics and to use it in different scenarios.

This book provides an account of the use of computational tactical metrics in improving sports analysis, in particular the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) data in soccer. As well as offering a practical perspective on collective behavioural analysis, it introduces the computational metrics available in the literature that allow readers to identify collective behaviour and patterns of play in team sports. These metrics only require the bio-dimensional geo-referencing information from GPS or video-tracking systems to provide qualitative and quantitative information about the tactical behaviour of players and the inter-relationships between teammates and their opponents. Exercises, experimental cases and algorithms enable readers to fully comprehend how to compute these metrics, as well as introducing them to the ultimate performance analysis tool, which is the basis to run them on. The script to compute the metrics is presented in Python. The book is a valuable resource for professional analysts as well students and researchers in the field of sports analysis wanting to optimise the use of GPS trackers in soccer.
This is an open access book. The ultimate goal of physical education and physical activity promotion is to facilitate and encourage individuals to engage in a physically active lifestyle. It can be achieved by improving physical literacy, which is defined as ‘the ability of individuals to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities, in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development and overall quality of life of the whole person.’ Prior to developing strategies for improving physical literacy, its concept needs to be defined and conceptualized because it involves complex interplays of individuals’ knowledge and understanding of physical activity as well as individuals’ motivation, self-confidence and physical competence for being physically active for life. The 6th Yogyakarta International Seminar on Health, Physical Education, and Sports Science (YISHPESS 2023) respond to this issue by organising the conference which carries a theme of "Lessening the prevalence of sedentary lifestyles through the use of physical education resources”. The Conference invites reputable international scholars and experts closely working in physical literacy, physical education and sports science in general.
IBM® invented the virtualization technology starting in the 1960s on the mainframe, and the functionalities evolved and were ported to other platforms and improved the reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features. With virtualization, you achieve better asset utilization, reduced operating costs, and faster responsiveness to changing business demands. Every technology vendor in the SAP ecosystem understands virtualization as slightly different capabilities on different levels (storage and server hardware, processor, memory, I/O resources or the application, and so on). It is important to understand exactly what functionality is offered and how it supports the client's business requirements. In this IBM Redbooks® publication we focus on server virtualization technologies in the IBM Power SystemsTM hardware, AIX®, IBM i, and Linux space and what they mean specifically for SAP applications running on this platform. SAP clients can leverage the technology that the IBM Power Systems platform offers. In this book, we describe the technologies and functions, what they mean, and how they apply to the SAP system landscape.
This book presents selected and peer-reviewed proceedings of the International Conference on Thermofluids (KIIT Thermo 2020). It focuses on the latest studies and findings in the areas of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and combustion. Some of the topics covered in the book include electronic cooling, HVAC system analysis, inverse heat transfer, combustion, nano-fluids, multiphase flow, high-speed flow, and shock waves. The book includes both experimental and numerical studies along with a few review chapters from experienced researchers, and is expected to lead to new research in this important area. This book is of interest to students, researchers as well as practitioners working in the areas of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and combustion.
This book is a hands-on guide to planning and consultation, with an emphasis on tools, tales, templates, speed, sources, and systems. First Things Fast is the quick start you need to surmount resistance to investigating performance. You'll get job aids, design templates, and implementation examples that direct you through the basics of performance analysis. A frequently updated, internet-based coaching and information system will complement and supplement the book (www.jbp.com/rossett.html).
This book introduces a novel design methodology which can significantly reduce the ASIP development effort through high degrees of design automation. The key elements of this new design methodology are a powerful application profiler and an automated instruction-set customization tool which considerably lighten the burden of mapping a target application to an ASIP architecture in the initial design stages. The book includes several design case studies with real life embedded applications to demonstrate how the methodology and the tools can be used in practice for accelerating the overall ASIP design process.
This IBM® Redbooks® publication provides guidance about how to configure, monitor, and manage your IBM System Storage® DS8800 and DS8700 storage systems to achieve optimum performance. It describes the DS8800 and DS8700 performance features and characteristics, including IBM System Storage Easy Tier® and DS8000® I/O Priority Manager. It also describes how they can be used with the various server platforms that attach to the storage system. Then, in separate chapters, we detail specific performance recommendations and discussions that apply for each server environment, as well as for database and DS8000 Copy Services environments. We also outline the various tools available for monitoring and measuring I/O performance for different server environments, as well as describe how to monitor the performance of the entire DS8000 storage system. This book is intended for individuals who want to maximize the performance of their DS8800 and DS8700 storage systems and investigate the planning and monitoring tools that are available. The IBM System Storage DS8800 and DS8700 storage system features, as described in this book, are available for the DS8700 with Licensed Machine Code (LMC) level 6.6.2x.xxx or higher and the DS8800 with Licensed Machine Code (LMC) level 7.6.2x.xxx or higher. For information about optimizing performance with the previous DS8000 models, DS8100 and DS8300, see the following IBM Redbooks publication: DS8000 Performance Monitoring and Tuning, SG24-7146.
