Excerpt from The Annual Journal of the Illinois State Dental Society: Transactions for the Year 1881 The published minutes of the last meeting were accepted without reading, and the roll of members was called. The Society was welcomed to the city by Mr. J. J. Parkes, at the request of the Mayor, who was detained by sickness. He spoke substantially as follows: Gentlemen: I have been requested by the Mayor of Rock Island, to meet you here this morning, to bid you welcome to our city. ARTICLE XIV. Rules Of Order. Robert's Rules of Order shall be the Code of this Socieij ARTICLE XV. This Constitution shall go into effect immediately upon its aSspSion, and ii shall be the duty of the presiding officer at once to appoint a NominaTS-Committee, as provided in Article II. of the By-Laws, and said committee shall thereafter as possible present the names of the Executive Council, and be then immediately taken. STANDING RESOLUTIONS. Supervisor Of Clinics. Resolved, That a Supervisor of Clinics shall be appointed annually by the Executive Council to serve one year. The duties of such Supervisor shall be to make all arrangements for the holding of clinics, to have charge of the clinic rooms, fixtures, etc., and to determine who may or may not operate, what operations shall be performed, etc., etc. He shall keep a record of all operations in a book provided for that purpose, and shall" report to the Society annually at the second daily session after the holding of the clinics. His report shall contain as thorough a criticism of each operation as possible, setting forth all the steps he may have deemed incorrect or otherwise, a statement of what he would have thought a better method, and his reasons therefor--to the end that profitable and instructive discussion may follow.
