In Tickle Your Funny Bone, I have attempted to capture the essence of everyday folks from all vocations. It is a tragedy for people to live to a ripe old age and, when they die, to allow their wonderful experiences to die with them. Oral history is rapidly dying across our nation. With the explosion of instant communication, we have lost the art of passing on everyday events of interest to future generations. There was a time, not very long ago, when families would sit around the fireplace and relate memories from times long past. Thus, the idea for this book was formed. The purpose is to provide an avenue for common everyday folks, who most likely would never be mentioned in history books, to relate memories that are meaningful in their lives and allow these memories to be passed on through time.

Laughter is power. Nothing livens up a presentation like well-placed jokes, which can take an audience from bored disinterest to rapt attention in seconds. In this ultimate collection of one-liners, author Pat Williams, one of the country's top motivational and inspirational speakers and senior vice president of the Orlando Magic, shares the jokes he has been using to win over audiences for over forty years. Arranged into more than 200 categories—from airlines and politics to world conditions and zoos—these 3,400 battle-tested funnies, delivered before a rich variety of audiences, will keep readers roaring. Prereaders get ready for reading by describing wacky scenes in their own words. Dogs and cats sitting at a table using flatware. Mice rappelling down kitchen cabinets after sneaking an apple from a basket. Squirrels parachuting from the treetops. “That’s silly!” This collection of ten full-color illustrations (no reading required!) is from the 2007-2008 issues of Highlights High Five,(tm) the award-winning new magazine for children ages two to six, published by Highlights for Children. As kids describe all those silly features, they can hone their visual, language, and reasoning abilities--not knowing how serious all this silliness can actually be!
