This report summarizes the SRS Groundwater Monitoring Program conducted by EPD/EMS during fourth quarter 1995. It includes the analytical data, field data, data review, quality control, and other documentation for this program; provides a record of the program's activities; and serves as an official record of the analytical results.
This report summarizes the Groundwater Monitoring Program conducted by SRS during fourth quarter 2000. It includes the analytical data, field data, data review, quality control, and other documentation for this program.
This report summarizes the Groundwater Monitoring Program conducted by the Savannah River site during fourth quarter 1999. It includes the analytical data, field data, data review, quality control, and other documentation for this program; provides a record of the program's activities; and serves as an official records of the analytical results.
This report summarizes the SRS Groundwater Monitoring Program conducted by EPD/EMS during first quarter 1995. It includes the analytical data, field data, data review, quality control, and other documentation for this program; provides a record of the programs' activities; and serves as an official record of the analytical results. EPD/EMS is responsible for monitoring constituents in the groundwater at approximately 135 waste sites in 17 areas at SRS. EPD/EMS is responsible for monitoring wells but is not responsible for the facilities where the wells are located. The Groundwater Monitoring Program includes the following activities: installation, maintenance, and abandonment of monitoring wells; environmental soil borings; development of sampling and analytical schedules; collection and analysis of groundwater samples; review of analytical and other data; maintenance of the databases containing groundwater monitoring data; quality assurance (QA) evaluations of laboratory performance; and reports of results to waste-site facility custodians and the Environmental Protection Section (EPS) of EPD.
During this quarter, EPD/EMS conducted extensive sampling of monitoring wells. EPD/EMS has established two sets of flagging criteria to assist in managing sample results. Analytical results from second quarter 1995 are included in this report, which is distributed to all site custodians. Eighty-two wells scheduled for analyses during this quarter were not sampled pending full establishment of a purge-water containment program. One or more analytes exceeded Flag 2 criteria in 40 monitoring well series. Analytes exceeded the current Flag 2 criteria for the first time since 1984 in 14 of those 40 monitoring well series. A table lists those well series with analyte results above Flag 2 criteria in the groundwater during this quarter; specific conductance and pH data are also included.
This report summarizes the Groundwater Monitoring Program conducted by Savannah River Site (SRS) during fourth quarter 1998. It includes the analytical data, field data, data review, quality control, and other documentation for this program; provides a record of the program's activities; and serves as an official record of the analytical results. The Environmental Monitoring Section is responsible for providing drilling, sampling, and analytical and data management support for the SRS Groundwater Monitoring Program at approximately 135 waste sites in 17 areas at SRS. The majority of this monitoring is required by US Department of Energy orders and by federal and state regulations administered by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
The Environmental Monitoring Group of the Health Protection Department administers the Savannah River Site`s Groundwater Monitoring Program. During fourth quarter 1988 (October--December), routine sampling of monitoring wells and drinking water locations was performed. The drinking water samples were collected from Savannah River Site (SRS) drinking water systems supplied by wells. Two sets of flagging criteria were established in 1986 to assist in the management of sample results. The flagging criteria do not define contamination levels; instead they aid personnel in sample scheduling, interpretation of data, and trend identification. The flagging criteria are based on detection limits, background levels in SRS groundwater, and drinking water standards. An explanation of flagging criteria for the fourth quarter is presented in the Flagging Criteria section of this document. The drinking water samples were analyzed for radioactive constituents.
The Environmental Monitoring Section of the Environmental and Health Protection (EHP) Department administers the Savannah River Site's Groundwater Monitoring Program. During fourth quarter 1989 (October--December), EHP conducted routine sampling of monitoring wells and drinking water locations. EHP collected the drinking water samples from Savannah River Site (SRS) drinking water systems supplied by wells. EHP established two sets of flagging criteria in 1986 to assist in the management of sample results. The flagging criteria aid personnel in sample scheduling, interpretation of data, and trend identification. An explanation of flagging criteria for the fourth quarter is presented in the Flagging Criteria section of this document. All analytical results from fourth quarter 1989 are listed in this report, which is distributed to all waste-site custodians.
