This true lost manuscript from the "grandfather of self-help," Napoleon Hill provides timeless wisdom on how to attain a more successful and wealthy life using simple principles. Napoleon Hill first wrote The Path to Personal Power in 1941, intending it as a handbook for people lifting themselves out of the Great Depression. But upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor and America's entrance into World War II, these lessons were put aside and largely forgotten--until today. Discovered in the archives of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, this never-before-published work is made up of three easily digested lessons, each its own chapter: Definteness of Purpose; the Master Mind; and Going the Extra Mile. This concise book is a powerful roadmap that leads to a single discovery--you already have the power to attain whatever wealth, success, and prosperity you desire in life. All you need to do is walk the path without straying, and the rest will follow. Using these lessons, you have principles to live by that will help you stay on your own personal path to power, and achieve success that you never thought possible.
Using insights from the Bible, dynamic pastor and motivational speaker Maxwell gives detailed steps for developing the attitude of mind which brings peace, courage, and success--to help turn problems into opportunities.
Everyone can imagine their future self, even very young children, and this future self is usually positive and education-linked. To make progress toward an aspired future or away from a feared future requires people to plan and take action. Unfortunately, most people often start too late and commit minimal effort to ineffective strategies that lead their attention elsewhere. As a result, their high hopes and earnest resolutions often fall short. In Pathways to Success Through Identity-Based Motivation Daphna Oyserman focuses on situational constraints and affordances that trigger or impede taking action. Focusing on when the future-self matters and how to reduce the shortfall between the self that one aspires to become and the outcomes that one actually attains, Oyserman introduces the reader to the core theoretical framework of identity-based motivation (IBM) theory. IBM theory is the prediction that people prefer to act in identity-congruent ways but that the identity-to-behavior link is opaque for a number of reasons (the future feels far away, difficulty of working on goals is misinterpreted, and strategies for attaining goals do not feel identity-congruent). Oyserman's book goes on to also include the stakes and how the importance of education comes into play as it improves the lives of the individual, their family, and their society. The framework of IBM theory and how to achieve it is broken down into three parts: how to translate identity-based motivation into a practical intervention, an outline of the intervention, and empirical evidence that it works. In addition, the book also includes an implementation manual and fidelity measures for educators utilizing this book to intervene for the improvement of academic outcomes.
This book is dedicated to anyone that is searching for the pathway to a more successful life. If you have not experienced much success and you are looking for answers, this book is for YOU. If you are already successful and are in search of the "magic pathway" to the next level, this book is for YOU. The secrets revealed in this book will help discover YOUR hidden power. You possess power that you are not aware of. You need the pathway to this power. I wrote this book to reveal the pathway, to forge ahead with life and become a more successful and powerful YOU. Following the pathway revealed in this book will increase your level of personal power so you can manifest a higher level of success in your life. What this book is about: We are living in two awesome worlds that co-exist side by side, the physical world and the spiritual world. People are aware of the physical world, but most people are unaware of the spiritual world. If you want more success you must become aware of the natural laws that govern all life, mankind and his destiny. There are many laws by which we are governed, spiritual laws, physical laws and universal laws. These laws were created to fulfill a purpose and all laws compliment each other. When you recognize them and learn how to use their positive forces, this is one of the pathways to your hidden power. The more you understand these laws, the easier it will be to apply them in your life. Your personal philosophy is what you know, believe, value and trust and it is the major piece to your life puzzle. If you want to change your reality, you must refine your philosophy. This book will help you manifest a more fulfilled reality. It is very difficult to manifest a high level of success in life without leadership skills. Leadership is a key to success, and self-leadership is the key to effective leadership. This book will help you develop a high capacity for leadership to increase your level of personal power. It is much easier to be successful when you are an expert at personal relationships. When you are good at relationships, you can be good at anything. This book will improve your relationships including family, friends and business associates, enabling you to become more successful. The secret to life is there is no secret, there is only lack of awareness. Mediocrity is "Death's Waiting Room." Reach high in life. My wish for you is God's speed and grace. To Your Success, Mike Petrusek
Based on a series of booklets written by bestselling motivational writer Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie’s Mental Dynamite outlines the importance of three essential principles of success: self-discipline, learning from defeat, and the Golden Rule applied. In 1908, Napoleon Hill met industrialist Andrew Carnegie for what he believed would be a short interview for an article. Instead, Carnegie spent hours detailing his principles of success to the young magazine reporter. He then challenged Hill to devote 20 years to collating a proven formula that would propel people of all backgrounds to happiness, harmony, and prosperity. Hill accepted the challenge, which he distilled in the perennial bestseller Think and Grow Rich. Now, more than a century later, the Napoleon Hill Foundation is releasing this epic conversation to remind people that there are simple solutions to the problems troubling us most, everything from relationships and education to homelessness and even democracy. This is revealed in three major principles: self-discipline, which shows how the six departments of the mind may be organized and directed to any end; learning from defeat, which describes how defeat can be made to yield “the seed of an equivalent benefit” and how to turn it into a stepping-stone to greater achievement; and the Golden Rule applied for developing rewarding relationships, peace of mind, and a strengthened consciousness. Each chapter draws on Carnegie’s words and advice as inspiration, with annotations by Napoleon Hill scholar James Whittaker explaining why they are essential for reaching your goals and prospering—for you, your family, and your community.

How can colleges and universities engage students in ways that prepare them to solve problems in our rapidly changing world? Most American colleges and universities assimilate students into highly competitive undergraduate experiences. By placing achievement for personal and material gain as the bedrock of a college education, these institutions fail to educate students to become collaborative learners: people who are committed and prepared to join with others in developing promising solutions to problems that they share with others. Drawing on a three-year study of student persistence and learning at Minority-Serving Institutions, Clifton Conrad and Todd Lundberg argue that student success in college should be redefined by focusing on the importance of collaborative learning over individual achievement. Engaging students in shared, real-world problem-solving, Conrad and Lundberg assert, will encourage them to embrace interdependence and to value and draw on diverse perspectives. Learning with Others presents a set of core practices to empower students to enter, nourish, and sustain collaborative learning and outlines how to blend the roles and responsibilities of faculty, staff, and students; how to adopt best practices for receiving and giving feedback on problem-solving; and how to anchor a curriculum in shared problem-solving. Bringing together lessons learned from more than 300 interviews, along with notes from 14 campus visits, 3 national convenings, and examples from across our nation's colleges and universities, Conrad and Lundberg explore ways in which successful antiracist networks of problem-solvers are learning to contribute to the flourishing of their communities on campus and far beyond. Outlining strategies for identifying and dismantling barriers to participation, Learning with Others will pique interest among faculty, students, and administrators in higher education and a wide range of external stakeholders—from families and communities to policymakers and funders.
The book is divided into two parts with an introduction. Part 1 has four chapters, and part 2 has three chapters. Part 1 is kingdom keys for succeeding in life, and part 2 is principles for success. The book has seven chapters in whole. The book is all about succeeding in life, and there are pathways you must follow to get there. Apparently, success is not a destination but a movement upward from one level to the next level. Success can become a failure when you dont continue moving forward. Success of yesterday can become failures of today, if there is no further progress. Through this book, you will understand that failure is a confession, as success is. So when you say it is impossible, you become a failure indeed. Even God cannot help you until you change your confession. Failure is the beginning of success because it tells you to try it again. And in doing it again, you win. Through this book, you will also learn how to invest in Gods kingdom, obey his word, and manage your life and time in others to get to your wealthy place. There is a wealthy place God has prepared for you, and he wants you to get there. The pathway to success is summed up in the following: Dont lose the sight of God. You will learn that if you loss the sight of God, you will lose sight of greatness. King Uzziah lost sight of God as well as Apostle Judas Iscariot. Both never became great. Succeeding through the force of labor. You will understand that your wealth, success, or prosperity is traceable to your assignment or Gods purpose you are carrying out. There is no entitlement in title bearing. It is the work you do that bears the title and brings about your wealth. Invest in the kingdom of God. Here in this chapter, you will learn how to serve God properly. You will also know that if you dont service your purpose, your purpose will become purposeless. Kingdom investment is what brings life increment. Whatever that is saved in Gods hands is secured and generates wealth. There is a bank of heaven and given is the channel through which you store up treasures in the bank and righteousness is the medium through which you activate it for withdrawal, and through the name of Jesus withdrawal is made possible. Patience is a divine factor that stabilizes your faith for effective performance in any given areas of life. Obedience is one of the spiritual tests for succeeding in life. You will get to understand that when you obey Gods Word, natural and even spiritual things will obey you. Application is the scientific way of getting answers to any equations of scientific nature, and so it is in the kingdom of God. Manage your life. You will know that God created you to be a leader and a manager. Management is the key to enthronement. You will manage your life through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. Manage your time wisely. You will get to understand that time is the currency of life and the key to fulfillment. Time management is the proper use of time to achieve all your goals and prioritizing them according to importance. Time management will help you prioritize, know your objective, plan very well, and then schedule your task. Discipline helps to maintain sanity and prepares one for future glory.
For anyone who suffers more anxiety or sadness than is justified by healthy concern or normal grieving Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me is an adage we teach our children to insulate them from the cruel remarks of others. As adults, however, it’s often the words that arise spontaneously from within—the self-disparagements, disturbing recollections, and ominous forecasts—that cause us emotional pain and prevent us from living our fullest and most productive lives. The human brain has provided us with the technologies that allow us to dominate our planet, but it is also the source of much unnecessary emotional distress. Even when we have no good reason to be upset, our brains can spontaneously flood our minds with disturbing thoughts of past trauma or future disaster. Much of our unnecessary emotional distress occurs because our attention is involuntarily drawn to whatever most angers or frightens us, even when no immediate action is required and the risk is minimal. Our mood tends to be harmed much more by each negative thought than it is improved by each positive one. These two findings constitute what researchers call the negativity bias, and it’s one of the reasons we often struggle to attain peace of mind: that mental equilibrium in which we accept both ourselves and our circumstances, without experiencing distress about something from the past or that might happen in the future. By becoming more mindful of our thoughts, we can learn to recognize those that distress and impede us unnecessarily. We can then respond by identifying, and focusing on, more functional alternatives. Reviewing, discussing, rehearsing, and roleplaying functional self-talk can strengthen our ability to reshape both our mood and our self-image. This focused positivity strategy can serve as the foundation of our efforts to become more assertive, more relaxed, healthier, and more connected to the world around us. Focused Positivity presents a comprehensive and accessible approach to positive thinking, one that is independent of religious or political beliefs and consistent with what science has discovered about negativity bias, automatic behavior, the impact of self-talk on mood and behavior, habit change, and even the competition that occurs between the two hemispheres of our brains. Focused Positivity can provide us with an accessible strategy that anyone can employ to enhance both success and peace of mind.
