She placed a robe around Jesus' shoulders and pressed a small tube to his neck. The painkillers cleared his headache, but did nothing to relieve the pain in his heart. Seeking comfort, he accepted the embrace from Artemis. Jesus buried his face on her breast, and continued to weep with deep, heartrending sobs. When slavers attack a camel caravan that eleven-year-old Jesus bin Joseph and his family are following from Egypt to Nazareth, his father, Joseph, is violently murdered in the raid. In an attempt to avenge his father and defend his family, Jesus is clubbed unconscious. Left for dead, Jesus is rescued by Apollo Centauri, Jesus's true sire, through artificial insemination. The befuddled boy is transported by shuttlecraft to a secret base inside Mt. Sinai and learns of the sixty-thousand-year-long experiment being conducted by a team of humans from the planet Alpha, more than four light years from Earth. Jesus is startled to discover that he is the focal point of an experiment in social engineering by the Alphans in an attempt to persuade the Earth humans to cease their genocide. Will Jesus be successful, or will Earth destroy itself?
“Reichs knows exactly how to mix action, suspense, and characters into a breathless read.” —Marie Lu, New York Times bestselling author of Warcross The blistering sequel to the instant New York Times bestselling Nemesis by Brendan Reichs. ISRAEL; the people, the nation, the religion. While remaining acutely aware of the shortcomings of both Heidegger and Derrida, the writer nevertheless uses insights and terminology from their discourse in the service of exposing the historical and thought trends of hegemonic proportions which have had the effect of deracinating Judaism from ISRAEL. The writer makes the claim that a "critical/spelunkative" analysis of what went into that final and anonymous redaction of the Babylonian Talmud points the way towards a retrieval of Judaism's "burning living center." The writer further contends that such a retrieval can have the effect of "returning" [teshuba] Judaism back to ISRAEL.

After years of consulting doctors, she decided the visions were a glitch in her own mind—until her mentor, the famous physicist Dr. James Corwin, is murdered in Italy, and Andie finds a stack of ink drawings in his office that bear a remarkable resemblance to her hallucinations. She is even more stunned to discover that her mother, an academic who disappeared when Andie was a young girl, might also be involved. Determined to find answers, Andie follows a trail of clues placed by Dr. Corwin, for reasons unknown, in museums and cultural sites around the world, highlighting human achievement as well as a tapestry of secret knowledge woven into the threads of history. Yet Andie is not the only one searching. Powerful forces know of her mentor's invention, including a mysterious elite society that spans borders and will stop at nothing to find the device. Now a target herself, Andie and a disgraced journalist embark on a perilous journey that might hold the key to a new frontier of knowledge—and which also promises to unlock the doors of her past. What readers are saying The Secret Bunker set a quick pace towards a culmination of events with a meeting of all the main characters and left me gripped along the way. It's not often I pre order the next book but I did in this case, there's no way I'm missing what happens next. I'm fascinated by the fact that Paul manages to provide an authentic teenage voice for his prime character all the way through. Looking forward to seeing what comes in the second of the trilogy which I've already pre-ordered, need I say more? Really enjoyed this adventure seen through the eyes of the teenage lead character - his voice was so true and compelling. I'm looking forward to reading the others and would rather like to go and visit the real bunker! Thoroughly enjoyed this as it keeps you intrigued all the way through. Must get on to part 2 now. I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down, I can't wait to see what happens next in book two! 5 Stars, I really enjoyed it! ... the action is intense and lots of twists and turns abound until the last page is turned. Orphan Black meets Lord of the Flies in this riveting new thriller from the co-author of the Virals series. It's been happening since Min was eight. Every two years, on her birthday, a strange man finds her and murders her in cold blood. But hours later, she wakes up in a clearing just outside her tiny Idaho hometown—alone, unhurt, and with all evidence of the horrifying crime erased. Across the valley, Noah just wants to be like everyone else. But he’s not. Nightmares of murder and death plague him, though he does his best to hide the signs. But when the world around him begins to spiral toward panic and destruction, Noah discovers that people have been lying to him his whole life. Everything changes in an eye blink. For the planet has a bigger problem. The Anvil, an enormous asteroid threatening all life on Earth, leaves little room for two troubled teens. Yet on her sixteenth birthday, as she cowers in her bedroom, hoping not to die for the fifth time, Min has had enough. She vows to discover what is happening in Fire Lake and uncovers a lifetime of lies: a vast conspiracy involving the sixty-four students of her sophomore class, one that may be even more sinister than the murders.
How well do you know Star Trek? Lifelong science fiction fan, podcaster and author Tom Salinsky decided that the answer was “not well enough”, and so at the beginning of 2022, he embarked on a two-year mission to watch everything from the start of The Original Series to the end of Enterprise, at the rate of one episode per day. This book is the first part of that odyssey, covering the 79 television episodes which started it all, the animated series which briefly brought it back in the 1970s, the first six original movies and the full run of The Next Generation. As well as having fun saluting the show’s triumphs, cringing at its lapses in taste, and admiring its willingness to swing for the fences, there’s lots of fascinating behind-the-scenes information here. Why were salt-cellars unchanged in the 23rd century? Was Gene Roddenberry really not allowed to show a woman’s belly button? How many characters get killed during the run of The Animated Series? Who actually wrote the script for Wrath of Khan? How did Paramount get Next Generation on the air when no network would touch it? But you’ll also get the benefit of a complete overview of this landmark series, watching it unfold and familiar elements appear – often much later than you think. When’s the first mention of the Federation? Of Kirk’s time being the 23rd century? Of there being no money in the future? And some elements appear rather earlier than you might think – which episode is the first to feature a Holodeck? Whether you’re a die-hard fan, a casual viewer, or just someone interested in the history of television, you’ll adore coming on this daily journey though the highs and lows of one of the most significant and much-loved media properties in the world.

Although staying alive in this broken world should force Min, Noah, Tack, and the others to form new alliances, old feuds die hard, and the brutality of the earlier Program phases cannot be forgotten. But being a team isn't easy for the sophomores, and when they discover that they may not be alone on the planet after all, they'll have to decide if they're going to work together . . . or die together.
