Excerpt from Men of Illinois It is as impossible to make a good impression without a good press as it is impossible to make a good copperplate likeness of a person unless the original photograph were all that it should be. A large part, in fact the great majority, of the engrav ings used to illustrate Men of Illinois were made from photographs taken by Radnor Coover, whose studio is in the Schiller building, Randolph street, Chicago. Mr. Coover is without question in the very front of his profession. For his assistance in making this book pictorially excellent the publisher wishes to thank Mr. Coover heartily, and takes this as the best means of so doing.
