The consumer price index (CPI) measures the rate at which prices of consumer goods and services change over time. The Economic Theory of Price Indices: Two Essays on the Effects of Taste, Quality, and Technological Change is concerned with the effects of consumer taste, product quality, and technological change on price indices.
