The Boy apprenticed to an Enchanter is filled with intrigue, mystery and adventure. It tells the tale of Eean, the fisherman's son, who vanquishes the evil Zabulun with the aide of Merlin the Magician, the Bird-of-Gold and the King's horses. His quest takes Eean to the Tower of Babylon where he defies his master, and he and Bird-of-Gold flee to Chiron the Centaur and Hermes Trismegistus in a desperate search of a helpmeet. Finally they come to the magical Island of the White Tower which rises into sight out of the western ocean on midsummer’s day, there to meet Merlin and to confront Zabulun in a final battle. And what of Eean and the Bird of Gold, who was actually the bramble gatherer’s daughter? What happened to them? Did the Bird of Gold regain her form, or was she forever cursed to be a bird? Also, was the King’s story ever eventually told, or is he wasting away unable to eat because the story was so rudely interrupted by Eean? Little Bob Taylor was mad, discouraged, and thoroughly miserable. Things had gone wrong—as things have the habit of doing with mischievous, fun-loving boys of ten—and he was disgruntled and disgusted. One lesson was not disposed of before another intrusively presented itself, and tasks at home multiplied with such regularity they rivalled that of the evils of Pandora’s box. Yes, Bob was all out of sorts. School was a bore; tasks at home were a botheration. Then one night Bob received a visit from a mischievous Little Green Goblin – and everything changed……….. Just how did they change you ask? Well, you just have to download this book to find out for yourself. 10% of the publisher’s profits are donated to charity. The King of Zum passes away and the Crown Prince and his wife, the Princess can’t be found anywhere in the kingdom? Is there something sinister afoot, or have they run away? The people of Zum didn’t know what to do and many were seen walking through the streets wringing their hands and behaving most strangely, for you see, Zum had never not had a monarch. Far away in London, Boy (for that is how everyone calls him) has stayed up late because he and his family are going on a journey. After the sun has gone and the Gaslighter had done his rounds and lit all the streetlights, boy was taken to a waiting carriage. Through the eerily lit streets the horses clipped and clopped towards Kings Cross station. Very soon he was ensconced in a plush leather window seat and the train was steaming its way through North London, through the suburbs and into the moonlit country side….. He awoke in an unfamiliar room and was told they were in Scarborough. Boy spent the day on the beach making sandcastles and even laughed at the play staged by the Pierrot Theatre company. At the end of the day, thoroughly tired out, he went to bed right after dinner and was gazing through the window when the moon started moving closer and closer. When it was close enough he could see Pierrot from the Theatre Company sitting astride the yellowy-golden orb. “I have an invitation for you,” Pierrot said to Boy. “For me!?” said an incredulous Boy? “Yes for you. Now come on, hop on,” said Pierrot holding out a hand “we don’t want to be late. Taking Pierrot’s hand Boy stepped from the window sill onto the moon. And so began Boy’s moonlit adventures with Pierrot to the land of Zum....... Will Boy be the one who finds the lost Prince and Princess? Just where could they be? What adventures will Boy have and where are they going to stay? Afterall the moon disappears at the end of each day? In the spring of 1355 evil were spreading abroad. Tidings which you cannot bury, nor hide. News had come secretly and fleetingly to Venice that Lewis (Louis) of Hungary, who had previously looted Venetian waters, was on his way to a second invasion, and had given over the Dalmatian towns to the Ban of Bosnia to ravage. Young Zuan Gradenigo, making his way on foot from the crowded Merceria into the Piazza di San Marco, ran upon his friend, the young German captain, whom men called Il Lupo—even though his name was Wölfart—and learned, what almost every other man in the city already knew about Lewis of Hungary. The two men were standing beside one of the gayly painted booths at the foot of the great Campanile, still eagerly discussing the matter and its probable outcome, half an hour later, when a servant in the livery of the doge touched young Zuan’s arm and, in a low tone, gave him a message. Gradenigo turned back to the German. "My uncle wishes to see me at once in the palace," he said. At the head of the great stair two men were awaiting him, and they led him at once through a narrow passage with secret sliding-doors to the inner cabinet of the private apartments of the newly elected doge, his uncle, Giovanni Gradenigo. What was young Zuan tasked with? What happened next you may well ask and what adventures await young Zuan? Well you’ll have to download this book and read for yourself what lies in store for young Zuan Gradenigo and the mission he was about to be sent on. Don’t wait! This is a quintessential children’s make-up-adventure story and is delightful in its telling. The 28 color images are exquisitely crafted and reflect and add to the essence of the story. Our story is set in the San Francisco area during the Gold Rush era of the late 1840’s and early 1850’s. The Queen of the Pirate Isle is about an imaginative young girl named Polly, who, with her cousin Hickory, a small Chinese boy named Wan Lee, and a neighbour named Patsey, who, after a game of pirates in the house, decide to “run away” to become real pirates. On their way they pass through the mining area where they slip and fall down a steep mud-slide. Polly’s doll’s removable hair got caught on something and ripped off during the fall and is now bald. They end up falling asleep in a nearby mine and are awoken and brought home by the miners, who have dressed up as pirates as a thank-you to Polly and the children as the mine in which they fell asleep led the miners to a new seam of gold.
The Cruise of the Little Dipper and Other Fairy Tales contains four exquisitely crafted and illustrated fairy tales. They Are: The Cruise of the Little Dipper - in which a boy is magically shrunk and sails in the toy boat he built to find his missing sailor father. The Wonderful Tale of Nikko - in which a girl with the help of a spider and a snail temporarily becomes Empress-Consort of China. Peter Dwarf - about a boy raised by dwarves and his magically transformed cat. But what was the cat before it was transformed? The Crystal Bowl, in which a prince rescues his love from a magician The Merciless Tsar - in which a haughty king learns to mend his ways and regain his kingdom. This is really one of the most magical and spellbinding of children's books! The stories are beautifully written (readers may particularly enjoy the gentle humour of The Wonderful Tale of Niku.) It takes you on a journey of magic, enchantment and mystery. It is a wonder that this book disappeared from the shelves of libraries eliminating hours of enjoyment for our children. It is our belief that this one deserves a permanent place with the classics. 10% of the profit from the sale of this book is donated to charities. ============== KEYWORDS/TAGS: Cruise of the Little Dipper, Other Fairy Tales, folklore, myths, legends, children’s stories, fables, storytellers, magic, shrink, toy boat, missing, sailor, father, wonderful tale of nikko, girl, spider, snail, empress, china, peter dwarf, dwarves, transformed, cat, princess, crystal bowl, prince, rescue, evil magician, merciless tsar, haughty, king, cruelty, uncaring, repent, regain, kingdom, kind, change ways, illustrated,
The sequel to The Enchanted Forest, “Solario The Tailor And His Tales Of The Magic Doublet” is equally enchanting and full of the author’s imaginations! The stories in this book are interconnected adventures told by one of the characters. In addition, all the princes, princesses, queens, and kings from The Enchanted Forest are present, and they make comments as they listen to Solario's stories. Even though the illustrations are old fashioned and quaint, if you like clever and imaginative and old-fashioned stories (the best kind) the book comes highly recommended.
