To be called by the name of a person, denotes the standing in a peculiar relation to him, or the being his property, his people, city, house: Gen.xlviii. 16: Isa. xli v. 3: 2 Chron. vii. 14: Jer. vii. 10; xxv. 29: Amos ix. 12. (3.) To act in a person's name, is to act by his commission or authority, real or feigned. (4.)
