En Arquitectura, las teorías que profundizan en problemáticas relacionadas al proyecto y buscan desequilibrar aquellos aspectos que hacen al sentido común y las condiciones establecidas de la disciplina, podrían ser consideradas Teorías Proyectivas. Este libro compila una serie de textos teóricos sobre el proyecto en Arquitectura que buscan indagar en los aspectos centrales de la disciplina. Se propone un recorrido por el proyecto arquitectónico desde la Historia, pasando por problematizaciones contemporáneas en relación a la técnica y la materialidad, hasta propuestas actuales respecto de cómo abordar el problema de las siempre cambiantes modalidades de representación. Además, se presenta una serie de investigaciones proyectuales con un alto grado de especulación proyectiva que buscan dar respuestas inventivas a algunas de las problemáticas planteadas en los textos. Serie Tesis compila una selección de trabajos destacados desarrollados en el marco de la Maestría en Investigación Proyectual de la Facultad de Arquitectura Diseño y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
La teoría que se formula a continuación es fruto de una serie de reflexiones suscitadas por la enseñanza de la arquitectura y la práctica del proyecto: es una teoría, pues, en sentido estricto, ya que trata de explicar aquellos aspectos de la arquitectura que no tienen explicación desde el sentido común. Los proyectos que hemos desarrollado durante los últimos seis años en el Laboratorio de Arquitectura ETSAB UPC constituyen el correlato arquitectónico de las reflexiones que el texto presenta. Así, la teoría supera la mera dimensión reflexiva para adquirir la condición de respuesta sistemática a programas y lugares diversos, tanto en el ámbito de las ideas como en el de las formas, es decir, por un lado, mediante la lógica de un discurso verbal y, por otro, desde la propuesta concreta de forma, a través de proyectos con incidencia efectiva en la realidad.
With the Republic of Slovenia declaring its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 Slovenia became an honourable member of the world of late capitalism, and in 2004 a member of the European Union. It would take too long to explain in detail why Slovenia became a successful member of the empire of late capitalism, but what can be said of architecture is that several young architects such as Spela Videcnik and Rok Oman of Ofis arhitekti became familiar with the blurring of the distinctions between art, fashion, high and low culture, design and politics, individualisation, and consumption. Not only Ofis, but other young architects oriented themselves to the West and decided early on in their careers to study architecture in post-Fordist countries like Great Britain, the USA, Holland and Finland, thus making the leap from a Communist welfare state into a late-capitalist state -with the help of their international aesthetics- easier and more promising for Slovenia. From that moment on, a new generation of architects paved the way for Slovenia to move into world capitalism. The work by Ofis compiled in this issue of 2G represents a good example of this new generation of architects from Eastern Europe.
