LES MODELES, QUI N'ETAIENT HIER ENCORE UTILISES QU'A TITRE DE DOCUMENTATION, SONT AUJOURD'HUI DEVENUS DES ENTITES DE PREMIER ORDRE INTERPRETES NON SEULEMENT PAR L'HOMME, MAIS EGALEMENT PAR LA MACHINE. EN EFFET, DE PLUS EN PLUS D'OUTILS SONT CAPABLES DE TIRER PARTI DE LA MASSE D'INFORMATION QU'ILS CONSTITUENT. CETTE NECESSITE DE PRENDRE EN COMPTE DES MODELES ABSTRAITS DE PLUS EN PLUS NOMBREUX NOUS OBLIGE ALORS A DEFINIR AVEC PRECISION LEUR NATURE, LES FORMALISMES UTILISES POUR LES EXPRIMER, AINSI QUE LES RELATIONS ET LES CORRESPONDANCES ENTRE CES MODELES. NOUS NOUS SITUONS DANS UNE APPROCHE OU UN MODELE EST CONSIDERE COMME UNE ABSTRACTION D'UN SYSTEME PAR RAPPORT A UNE CERTAINE ONTOLOGIE OU META-MODELE. CETTE ONTOLOGIE EST CONSTITUEE DES CONCEPTS ET DES RELATIONS ENTRE CONCEPTS UTILISABLES DANS L'EXPRESSION DU MODELE. LA NOTION DE META-MODELE EST ESSENTIELLE DANS LE CADRE DE L'INGENIERIE DES MODELES ET CETTE THESE VISE A PROPOSER UN CADRE INDUSTRIEL COHERENT POUR LA MODELISATION ET LA META-MODELISATION. ELLE PRESENTE DANS UN PREMIER TEMPS QUELQUES FORMALISMES SUSCEPTIBLES DE SUPPORTER LA REPRESENTATION DES MODELES ET DE LEURS META-MODELES. DANS LE CADRE DE CE TRAVAIL, LES MODELES ISSUS DE DOMAINES DIVERS TELS QUE L'INDUSTRIALISATION DU DEVELOPPEMENT DE LOGICIELS, LA RETRO-INGENIERIE ET LA MODELISATION DE PROCESSUS DOIVENT ETRE SUPPORTES DE FACON HOMOGENE. NOUS AVONS DEFINI NOTRE PROPRE FORMALISME, BASE SUR LES RESEAUX SEMANTIQUES, CAPABLE DE REPRESENTER INDIFFEREMMENT CES MODELES ET LEURS META-MODELES DE FACON EXPLICITE. NOUS NOUS SOMMES INTERESSES A LA RELATION EXISTANT ENTRE UN MODELE ET SON META-MODELE, AINSI QU'A LA NOTION D'EXTENSION DE MODELES ET DE META-MODELES. AU DELA DE L'EXPRESSION DES MODELES, NOUS AVONS PROPOSE UN MOYEN DE FORMALISER LES REGLES DE TRANSFORMATION DE MODELES AINSI QU'UN LANGAGE D'EXPRESSION DE REQUETES SUR UN MODELE. CE TRAVAIL A DONNE LIEU A LA REALISATION D'UN ENSEMBLE D'OUTILS GENERIQUES DE SUPPORT A LA MODELISATION.
The purpose of this book is to disseminate the research results and best practice from researchers and practitioners interested in and working on modeling methods and methodologies. Though the need for such studies is well recognized, there is a paucity of such research in the literature. What specifically distinguishes this book is that it looks at various research domains and areas such as enterprise, process, goal, object-orientation, data, requirements, ontology, and component modeling, to provide an overview of existing approaches and best practices in these conceptually closely-related fields. *Note: This book is part of a series entitled ?Advanced Topics in Database Research".
Models in system design follow the general tendency in electronics in terms of size, complexity and difficulty of maintenance. While a model should be a manageable representation of a system, this increasing complexity sometimes forces current CAD-tool designers and model writers to apply modeling techniques to the model itself. Model writers are interested in instrumenting their model, so as to extract critical information before the model is complete. CAD tools designers use internal representations of the design at various stages. The complexity has also led CAD-tool developers to develop formal tools, theories and methods to improve relevance, completeness and consistency of those internal representations. Information modeling involves the representation of objects, their properties and relationships. Performance Modeling When it comes to design choices and trade-offs, performance is generally the final key. However performance estimations have to be extracted at a very early stage in the system design. Performance modeling concerns the set of tools and techniques that allow or help the designer to capture metrics relating to future architectures. Performance modeling encompasses the whole system, including software modeling. It has a strong impact on all levels of design choices, from hardware/software partitioning to the final layout. Information Modeling Specification and formalism have in the past traditionally played little part in the design and development of EDA systems, their support environments, languages and processes. Instead, EDA system developers and EDA system users have seemed to be content to operate within environments that are often extremely complex and may be poorly tested and understood. This situation has now begun to change with the increasing use of techniques drawn from the domains of formal specification and database design. This section of this volume addresses aspects of the techniques being used. In particular, it considers a specific formalism, called information modeling, which has gained increasing acceptance recently and is now a key part of many of the proposals in the EDA Standards Roadmap, which promises to be of significance to the EDA industry. In addition, the section looks at an example of a design system from the point of view of its underlying understanding of the design process rather than through a consideration of particular CAD algorithms. Meta-Modeling: Performance and Information Modeling contains papers describing the very latest techniques used in meta-modeling. It will be a valuable text for researchers, practitioners and students involved in Electronic Design Automation.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Object-Oriented Information Systems, OOIS 2003, held in Geneva, Switzerland in September 2003. The papers are organized in topical sections on evolution of OOIS, OOIS frameworks, patterns and components, object-oriented databases, XML on Web aspects, evolution, object-oriented design and architecture, and modeling of information systems.
This volume includes very high quality papers in different areas of computer and information sciences. The main themes are (computer network) performance evaluation and artificial neural networks and their applications. The latest developments in these areas are presented by a number of distinguished researchers from all over the world. These proceedings of The 13th International Symposium on Computer and Information Sciences (ISCIS'98) contain outstanding papers specifically related to the areas of "Gelenbe" neural networks and their applications, performance of computer-communication networks, simulations and analytic methods in order to study the performance of telecommunication networks, scheduling and resource allocation in computer and multimedia systems, stochastic ordering applied to performance evaluation, and simulation of virtual humans.
LES ATELIERS DE GENIE LOGICIEL (OU OUTILS CASE) SONT DES LOGICIELS COMPLEXES DESTINES A ASSISTER L'INGENIEUR DANS LA CONCEPTION ET LA CONSTRUCTION D'UN SYSTEME D'INFORMATION. CETTE THESE CONCERNE LE DEVELOPPEMENT DE CE GENRE D'OUTILS. ELLE COMPLETE LES TRAVAUX RELATIFS A L'ATELIER DE GENIE LOGICIEL RUBIS ET CONTIENT DEUX PARTIES. LA PREMIERE PARTIE EST RELATIVE AU DEVELOPPEMENT ET A L'INTEGRATION DU LANGAGE PROQUEL AU SEIN DU SYSTEME RUBIS. PROQUEL EST UN LANGAGE EXECUTABLE POUR LA SPECIFICATION ET LE PROTOTYPAGE D'UNE APPLICATION AYANT UNE COMPOSANTE BASE DE DONNEES. L'EXECUTION REPOSE SUR LA CREATION D'UNE BASE DE DONNEES PROTOTYPE ET SUR L'INTERPRETEUR DE PROQUEL. CELUI-CI JOUE UN ROLE FONDAMENTAL DANS L'ARCHITECTURE DE RUBIS. IL EST UTILISE PAR TOUS LES MODULES DE RUBIS POUR CONTRIBUER A L'EXECUTION DES SPECIFICATIONS CONCEPTUELLES. LA SECONDE PARTIE CONCERNE L'ETUDE, LA REPRESENTATION ET L'AUTOMATISATION DU PROCESSUS DE DERIVATION D'UNE APPLICATION TRANSACTIONNELLE. CE PROCESSUS DESIGNE L'ENSEMBLE DES TACHES QUE LE DEVELOPPEUR DOIT METTRE EN UVRE POUR CONSTRUIRE, A PARTIR DES SPECIFICATIONS CONCEPTUELLES PROTOTYPEES AVEC RUBIS, UNE APPLICATION TRANSACTIONNELLE AVEC LES LANGAGES ET LES OUTILS D'UN SGBD CIBLE. POUR REPRESENTER CE PROCESSUS, ON UTILISE UN META-MODELE GENERAL DE PROCESSUS. CE META-MODELE EST ORIENTE DECISION: LE DEROULEMENT D'UN PROCESSUS EST VU COMME UNE SUITE DE DECISIONS PRISES DANS DES SITUATIONS SPECIFIQUES. LE COUPLE SITUATION-DECISION CONSTITUE UN CONTEXTE. LA REPRESENTATION OBTENUE EST UNE ARBORESCENCE DE CONTEXTES DONT LES FEUILLES TERMINALES SONT DES ACTIONS EXECUTABLES. CES ACTIONS DE GENERATION SE CLASSIFIENT EN TROIS CATEGORIES: TRANSFORMATION, IMPLANTATION ET COMPILATION. POUR AUTOMATISER LE PROCESSUS DE DERIVATION, LA THESE PROPOSE UNE SOLUTION LOGICIELLE GENERIQUE. LA GENERICITE EST OBTENUE GRACE A L'USAGE EXTENSIF DES TECHNIQUES DE META-MODELISATION. UNE BASE ETENDUE DES SPECIFICATIONS SERT A STOCKER UNE REPRESENTATION PERSISTANTE DU PROCESSUS ET DES PRODUITS MANIPULES PAR CE PROCESSUS. CETTE BASE EST ORGANISEE SELON TROIS NIVEAUX D'INSTANCIATIONS, LE NIVEAU LE PLUS HAUT CONTIENT L'ENSEMBLE DES META-MODELES. ELLE EST CONSTRUITE AVEC LE LANGAGE TELOS QUI EST UN LANGAGE DE REPRESENTATION DES CONNAISSANCES DEVELOPPE DANS LE CADRE DES PROJETS EUROPEENS DAIDA ET NATURE. LA GENERATION DE CODE TRANSACTIONNEL CORRESPOND A L'EXECUTION D'UNE INSTANCE PARTICULIERE DU META-MODELE DU PROCESSUS. CETTE EXECUTION EST PRISE EN CHARGE PAR UN MODULE GENERIQUE DE CONDUITE DE PROCESSUS. CE MODULE EST CAPABLE D'EXECUTER LES ACTIONS RATTACHEES AUX FEUILLES DE L'ARBORESCENCE DE CONTEXTES. ENFIN, ON DEMONTRE LA FAISABILITE DE CETTE APPROCHE GENERIQUE EN CONSIDERANT LE COUPLE RUBIS-SYBASE
