What is her destiny? And why is she riding in a cup, on a DEER? In her debut novel, author Summer Nilsson takes readers on a journey of discovering identity and the gift of empathy. Lush illustrations capture the magic found in the Piney Woods of Nilsson’s East Texas hometown and bring the cast of creatures vividly to life. The Black Widow and her guiding Hourglass have big plans for the farm, and Grey could be their key to controlling the whole mountain—and all the animals who reside there. When the Widow traps Grey in a web of promises and threats, will this special kitten give up control over her destiny? Filled with unpredictable twists and turns, The Land of the Pines connects tweens to the transformative power of kindness and intention, all while reinforcing our universal connection to one another.
Joshua walked to the front of the room and stood behind the podium. From deep within, he heard these words. I have received a marvelous gift. This gift cost its bearer his life. It is a gift of love of hope of redemption for all who enter into it. I will build a church, that all may know and receive the great gift of God. On his deathbed an evangelist bequeaths his vision of a church and the gift of gold to build it to a fortuitous young man, Joshua Summer-but with a binding promise. Summer's Gold And Its Redemptive Ooze follows Summer's arduous quest to fulfill this vision through the challenges and triumphs of living in the American South during the 1890s. Halfheartedly accepting the responsibility of his quest, Summer clashes with local law enforcement, is pursued by Federal agents, and encounters the K-group, a racist faction similar to the Ku Klux Klan. But it is only when he experiences soul-wrenching changes and emerges as a confident, mature man that he becomes a true believer, a man ready to build his church. After overcoming racial prejudice, Summer unites the whole county through the power of God's transformative love, providing a healing balm to this hate-filled community.

There are two ways to keep a secret: silence or lies I can feel the anger bubbling up inside me. 'Grace, we've got a brand new life now. We can be anyone we want.' 'So what happens when your new friends find out you've just spun them a story?' 'They won't. I'm not going to let anyone spoil things. Never again.' Ellie and Grace have left their old life behind. The future seems better, brighter, more exciting. But as their past threatens to catch up with them, how long can silence and lies keep their dark secret safe? "A painting, depicting haunting scenes of a ruined palace and a scarlet-haired goddess in front of a fiery city, arrives unheralded in an art gallery with a cryptic note saying, "The world needs to see this." The painting begins to change the lives of the woman who is the gallery's curator and that of an ancient man of the fey Aetherial folk who has mysteriously risen from the depths of the ocean. Neither human nor fairy knows how they are connected, but when the painting is stolen, both are compelled to discover the meaning behind the painting and the key it holds to their future. In a haunting, powerful tale of two worlds and those caught between, Freda Warrington weaves an exciting story of suspense, adventure and danger that fulfills the promise of the Aetherial Tales as only she can.
