This report is mainly concerned with the collection and preliminary treatment of samples, the assembling of personnel and equipment commenced in late September, and the formulation of a preliminary sampling program for Bull Canyon well 155 C. A section is also inlcuded on the impressions of the problem gained by examination of samples and from the field trip to southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah in September. This is, of course, a preliminary discussion and the suggestions are tentative. Nevertheless it may prove fruitful in ventilating possibilities which can be critically examined in the field while the laboratory work is being compiled to check on the various impressions and hypotheses.
