Even when it seems like we are all alone, God is always with us. That is the central message in this memoir by Dr. Selene Maya Author, who was born the youngest of ten children in a Hindu home in Guyana, South America. She and her siblings grow up living off the land, and she develops a passion for true healing during her adolescent years, working to find answers for herself, her family, and society at large. At age fourteen, she immigrates to the United States of America, and it isn’t long before she is working two jobs, including at a department store. She thinks nothing of it when the store manager—also from Guyana—befriends her, but it’s all a ploy so he can brutally rape her when he gets her alone. From that day on, work is a degrading and humiliating experience. For years, she suffers from low self-esteem and feels alone, but when all hope seems lost, she cries out to Jesus. He hears her cry and retrieves her from a lonely place to set her feet on solid rock. Join the author on a real-life Cinderella story that shows the power of perseverance, family, faith, and prayer.

Dr. Author’s accessible tone appears in “Forgive and Free Yourself.” She writes, “Every one of us has experienced some kind of pain and hurt in the form of bodily injury, sexual abuse, or mental or psychological mistreatment. Whatever form it might be, you can either hold onto the anger, resentment, and vengeful thoughts or you can embrace forgiveness and move forward with your life.” I Place My Hands in His: Forty Days of Devotions encourages all to take steps toward healing. It provokes one to withstand life’s challenges, express love to others, and trust in God for all things.
Growing up the son of agnostics, John Koessler saw a Catholic church on one end of the street and a Baptist on the other. In the no-man’s land between the two, this curious outside wondered about the God they worshipped—and began a lifelong search to comprehend the grace and mystery of God. A Stranger in the House of God addresses fundamental questions and struggles faced by spiritual seekers and mature believers. Like a contemporary Pilgrim’s Progress, it traces the author’s journey and explores his experiences with both charismatic and evangelical Christianity. It also describes his transformation from religious outsider to ordained pastor. John Koessler provides a poignant and often humorous window into the interior of the soul as he describes his journey from doubt and struggle with the church to personal faith
The birth of this book The Third Testament is based on a discovery in times of tragedy, pain, suffering, lamentation, and derision of lost hope on a tropical island of beauty, Hawaii. A place of many ancient historical tales, it gave light to a true story of a divine intervention when death invasions threatened her salvation since childhood. This shocking and spellbinding battle of attacks by unparalleled phenomenon of demonic forces reveals a translucent phantom of deceivers in the atmosphere of our world, unfounded by many in humanity yet spoken of in biblical times by Jesus Christ.
A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.
Life and death struggles, a common thread that connects us as human beings, are vividly revealed in this inspirational and unforgettable true story as told by a mother and her daughter of their babies, born with life threatening birth defects. Swept away on an uncharted and treacherous journey one thing clearly emerges, God, the ultimate thread that held them together through their darkest hours, was waiting for them there. He gave them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness so He might be glorified through their babies' life and death struggles. (Isaiah 61: 3b) At every bend in the road lives were forever changed. The baby boy unable to ever speak a word about what he endured in his fight for life went to his grave never knowing what a giant impression his tiny handprint had left on every heart he touched...leaving this world a better place than he found it. For the little girl, the veil separating Heaven and Earth was lifted . . . "Mommy, I see an angel!" Hoping to get a glimpse, her mommy searched the hospital room eagerly. "Where do you see an angel?" her mommy asked. She pointed overhead, "Up there . . . in the corner of my room . . . one angel with big, pink wings." Although her mommy didn't see the Heavenly being, together they felt the comfort of its presence. On their timeless journey of faith, hope, and love, their loving God went with them through it all: healing hearts, changing lives, sharing their deepest sorrows, and sending his angels to comfort and help them. Their stories, formed in the crucible of life and death struggles, were transformed by the grace of God into a thing of beauty. "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time." (Ecclesiastes 3: 11a, KJV)
In every poem written an interpretation of a dream, nightmare, or reality remains to be revealed. Tayas reality was that she lived in an abusive relationship over a decade, which was not a dream, instead it was a nightmare. She lived the nightmare and faced the reality of abuse early in life, nevertheless her dreams came true later in her life. As the seasons changed her emotions changed with expressions of love, hate, depression, and fear. While God sent his grace, wisdom, love, and joy down from heaven-Taya embraced his gifts in the rain, sunshine, wind, and snow. Without the fear of what people might think, Taya was able to express her true self by expressing her true feelings throughout her stories and poems. There is a message in her poems and stories, which will remain in hearts and minds forever. While her emotions traveled deep into her words-her tears bled with the hopes that every word in this book would reach every hurting soul that needs healing. Living in an environment surrounded around drugs, violence, and crime did not prevent Tayas dreams from coming true. For she was able to reach out to God with the confidence that he would carry her through all her trials and tribulations, which she experienced in life. Her poems describe her world, so she would like to invite you to see life through her eyes.
The prospects for recovery for Officer Bob Kelly were not good. Shot twice during a traffic stop, the emergency room doctors had worked feverishly to save his life. Four weeks later, to the doctor's surprise, Kelly walked out of the hospital and went home. He felt good--no pain, fully alert, and strong. Little did he know the terror and struggle that awaited him as the demon who possessed him took more control.
