The gangs have from 6 to 12 men each and at the head of each gang we have a man who has been with. The Company for several years and as the picked Corn is dumped on piles in the field this foreman inspects each mans Corn as it is-dumped from the sack, and if it is not 0. K. Some body gets called to account. Is the Corn dumped on the ground? Never! The men prepare what we call beds which are made by laying stalks and grass on the ground to a depth of 6 or 8 inches upon which the Corn is dumped.
