This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Distributed and Computer and Communication Networks, DCCN 2022, held in Moscow, Russia, in September 26–29, 2022. The 31 revised full papers and 2 revised short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 130 submissions. The papers cover the following topics: computer and communication networks; analytical modeling of distributed systems; and distributed systems applications.
We have described the development of a new micro-payment system, NetPay, f- turing different ways of managing electronic money, or e-coins. NetPay provides an off-line, anonymous protocol that supports high-volume, low-cost electronic trans- tions over the Internet. We developed three kinds of e-wallets to manage coins in a NetPay-based system: a sever-side e-wallet allowing multiple computer access to- coins; a client-side e-wallet allowing customer PC management of the e-coins, and a cookie-based e-wallet cache to improve performance of the client-side e-wallet c- munication overhead. Experiences to date with NetPay prototypes have demonstrated it provides an effective micro-payment strategy and customers welcome the ability to manage their electronic coins in different ways. This two-volume set (CCIS 134 and CCIS 135) constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Information Science, ICICIS2011, held in Chongqing, China, in January 2011. Collaborative Networked Organizations represent one of the most relevant organizational paradigms in industry and services. A large number of developments in recent years have turned Collaborative Networks into a pervasive phenomenon in all socio-economic sectors. The main aim of this book is to provide a comprehensive set of reference materials derived from the results of the ECOLEAD project in one organized volume. The ECOLEAD project, a large 4-year European initiative, involved 28 organizations (from academia, research and industry), from 14 countries (in Europe and Latin America). Three main types of results from ECOLEAD are presented: (i) Conceptual frameworks and models, (ii) Methods and processes, and (iii) Software tools and systems. Furthermore, the experience and lessons learned with a number of large pilot implementations in real-world running networks of enterprises are also included as an indication of the assessment/validation of the project results. GIFT is a free, modular, open-source tutoring architecture that is being developed to capture best tutoring practices and support rapid authoring, reuse and interoperability of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITSs). The authoring tools have been designed to lower costs and entry skills needed to author ITSs and our research continues to seek and discover ways to enhance the adaptiveness of ITSs to support self-regulated learning (SRL). This year marks the sixth year of GIFT Symposia and we accepted 30 papers for publication in this year’s proceedings.
Scenario planning should be one of the Pentagon's most important tools for developing strategy for an uncertain future. However, the formalized joint scenario planning process to support strategy and force development-Support for Strategic Analysis-has faced many challenges over the past 2 decades, and has ultimately proven less influential than intended on strategic decision-making. Explaining why is the main purpose of this monograph. It argues that scenario analysis has been most effective in supporting capability and program development, while it has fallen short in shaping strategy and force structure. The reasons for this are numerous and are rooted in intrinsic, structural characteristics of decision-making in large organizations. The monograph concludes with several recommendations for rejuvenating scenario planning in the Pentagon.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th KES International Conference on Agent and Multi-Agent Systems, KES-AMSTA 2012, held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in June 2012.
