Excerpt from Report of the Hawaii Agricultural Experiment Station, 1940 The Hawaii Agricultural Experiment Station is the agricultural research division of the University of Hawaii. Its function is to develop the agricultural resources and opportunities Of the Territory. The research activities Of the station are conducted in the labora tories and on the farm at the University, at the three branch stations on Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii, and in cooperation with plantations. Ranchers, and farmers at strategic points throughout the Territory. Thus the station is able to study agricultural problems and to solve them both in the laboratory and in the field. Indeed, much of the research of the station and consequently its direct value would be impossible without the cooperation and financial support of numerous individuals and corporations.
