The Lord is abundant in mercy to all who call upon Him. Jesus was mercy-in-person when He walked on the earth. But how can mercy be like honeysuckle? Just as honeysuckle vines overcome fences, God’s mercy has the power to grow relentlessly in our hearts, conquering all kinds of obstacles that result from our wounded human relationships and limited human reason. As you read and reflect on the scriptural revelations, you’ll discover the life-changing truth that mercy is the Passion, the Presence, and the Glory of God. “Turning Points” at the end of each chapter will guide you through prayer and journaling to help you feel the passion, experience the presence, and see the glory of God as you comprehend God’s Relentless Love for you. Ultimately, as you receive His mercy you will be empowered to show mercy to those around you – even those who’ve wounded you.

Revised & Updated Edition! God is love. Crazy, relentless, all-powerful love. Have you ever wondered if we're missing it? It's crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe—the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor—loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Whether you've verbalized it yet or not, we all know something's wrong. Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn't working harder at a list of do's and don'ts—it's falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same. Because when you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything. Ed Smith defines enchantment as 'that place where our life and our deepest dreams merge' and he maintains that it is our true nature. In 'Relentless Love', he proposes that we can live lives of enchantment through the practice of relentless love. He inspires us to create a world based on our intention to love and our faith in life and contends that evolution is propelling us to do so. He defines evolution as 'events you do not like that converge to create a possibility you could not anticipate'. This is an original, lucid, voice with something very compelling and vital to say that can change all of our lives.
Alex has already lost one lover to his brother Zeca. Now his fickle shenanigans have driven Hugh, his other lover, away as well. Alex desperately wants what his brother has, an intensely passionate relationship, so Zeca shares their father’s advice—you have to love before you can be relentless. Good advice, if Alex weren’t so afraid to follow it. When Toppy’s own love life gets a little, um…strange, he escapes to St. Tropez. He takes Alex with him, who finds himself face-to-face with Hugh. Too bad Hugh is already lip-to-lip with someone else. But Alex has come too far to turn back now. The game is on, and while Toppy gets up to his own sexual shenanigans under the St. Tropez sun, Alex will do anything to get back into Hugh’s life…his bed…his body. He’ll first have to learn to face his fears. Only then can he find relentless love. This book has been previously published.
How does the church’s calling to take the whole gospel to the whole world manifest in contexts of poverty, injustice, and conflict? In this collection of essays, drawn from the 7th Micah Global Triennial Consultation in the Philippines, Christians from across the globe reflect on the church’s role in alleviating suffering and developing transformed communities. At the heart of these reflections is the topic of resilience and its role in Christian community, integral mission, and faith-based development work. Offering both theological frameworks and practical tools for the development of resilient communities, this book ignites a biblical passion for integrating justice and proclamation, witness and social concern, evangelism and community transformation. Relentless Love is a powerful reminder of Christ’s calling to join him in his work to bring wholeness, reconciliation, and redemption to the earth.
Katie was a normal American teenager when she decided to explore the possibility of voluntary work overseas. She temporarily 'quit life' to serve in Uganda for a year before going to college. However, returning to 'normal' became impossible and Katie 'quit life' - college, designer clothes, her little yellow convertible and her boyfriend - for good, remaining in Uganda. In the early days she felt as though she were trying to empty the ocean with an eyedropper, but has learnt that she is not called to change the world in itself, but to change the world for one person at a time. By the age of 22 Katie had adopted 14 girls and founded Amizima Ministries which currently has sponsors for over 600 children and a feeding program for Uganda's poorest citizens - so it is no wonder she feels Jesus wrecked her life, shattered it to pieces, and put it back together making it more beautiful than it was before.
Young people are walking away from the church and those still in the church often struggle with indifference about their faith. But it doesn't have to be this way. It's time for a revolution, a holy uprising. A riot. With passion and authenticity, teen author Sara Barratt calls on her generation to reject apathy and embrace a daring, costly faith. Not content with safe religion that demands nothing of us, Sara shows teens how they can stop giving in to the status quo and devote themselves fully to Christ, following him no matter what their friends do or the culture around them does. She challenges them to give everything over--their comfort zones, their time, their loyalties, their pride--and discover that in losing control they are gaining the life that was meant for them all along. Love Riot is a battle cry from one teen to another to embrace a life of wholehearted commitment and relentless abandon for Christ . . . no matter the cost.
This book has been an inspired work of love. It came to me early one morning as I was having coffee and meditating on the goodness of God and the many ways God is revealed to his human family (as I regularly do) in the magnificent creation he has provided for all his people. Whenever this tiny voice speaks to me in the extreme interior of my heart, I pay attention and I follow through with whatever is revealed. This has happened before in other areas of my life with amazing results. I pray that those who read this work may not only find it inspirational but will also recognize in their own lives the many ways God speaks to them and act upon the message revealed. We must respond when God calls us to a particular cause. If he calls us, he will show us the way however remote, however distant, or however difficult the call may seem to us. We are his childrenhis chosen peopleand he loves us beyond measure!
