In a world where everything is given to you, how bad could life be? So figure four teens when offered the chance to journey forward through time in search of their dream lives. Sent to a simulated world where they are placed in their ideal jobs and infused with all the knowledge they need to succeed, Marco, Taylor, Karla, and April soon discover that reality, even the alternative kind, has a way of turning dreams into nightmares. Not until they change how they think do they realize who really controls their lives.
Pick up S.T.E.A.M. with experiments in science, chemistry, technology, engineering and more! Inspired by Netflix’s original series, Project Mc2 (TM), The Pretty Brilliant Experiment book has over 20 experiments introduced by our favorite Nov8 (that’s Innovate) agents: McKeyla McAlister, Adrienne Attoms, Bryden Bandweth, and Camryn Coyle. Learn about electricity, chemical reactions, physics, and biology while crafting an hour glass, creating crystals, and making ice cream! Then record your own observations after reading the scientific analysis accompanying each activity. The ingredients are affordable and easy-to-find, and each DIY experiment can be completed safely at home with parents and friends. Based on a NETFLIX original series. Ever wanted to move things without touching them like a Jedi can? Or grow your own kyber crystal? Or maybe explode a balloon with a beam of energy, just like the Death Star? Now you can! With 20 amazing projects, Star WarsTM Maker Lab teaches your budding Padawan how to become a Master of science, in both the real world and the Star Wars galaxy. Using clear step-by-step instructions, the book guides home scientists and makers through each exciting experiment - from making Jabba's gooey slime or a hovering landspeeder, to an Ewok catapult and a glowing Gungan Globe of Peace. Each project has fact-filled panels to explain the real-world science as well as the Star Wars science fiction from the movies. With projects that are out of this world, this fantastic Star Wars book can keep children entertained for hours, making use of many household items such as cardboard tubes, baking soda, straws, balloons, and food coloring. There is also plenty to keep more adventurous scientists enthralled, with instructions to create your own bristlebot mouse droid, lightsaber duel, and Mustafar volcano. Star Wars Maker Lab supports STREAM topics and helps children to learn the basics of science by traveling through the Star Wars galaxy. May the (static) force be with you! © & TM 2018 LUCASFILM LTD. about management research, has developed and made a more prominent appearance in the relevant literature. Both the Academy of Management Review and Management Education and Development have devoted complete special issues to these topics in their impact on theory-building and research: see section 6.5. While the latter journal continues, its editorial team have decamped to set up a new periodical, Management Learning, which emphasizes current thinking about management research. This -the 'New Paradigm', postmodern analysis, call it what you will-is an epistemology whose relevance I argued in my first edition and continue to emphasize in Chapter 6 of the present. The appreciation of qualitative approaches to the understanding of organizational life has increased during the last four years, approaches seen as complementary to quantitative analysis by many, a substitute by some. The appearance of the second edition of Miles and Huberman (1994) indicates the growing importance attached to qualitative analysis by many management researchers, and I have mentioned some of the techniques they advocate at relevant points in Part Three of this book, without attempting, or indeed being able, to replicate their magnificent work. Discourse analysis, biography and hermeneutic analysis are among the recent approaches to which pointers are provided in Part Three. Similarly, the value of arguing a case, rather than testing a thesis, has been emphasized for some forms of Diploma and MBA work: see section 6.4.
The present book brings together experience, current work, and promising future trends associated with distributed computing, artificial intelligence, and their application in order to provide efficient solutions to real problems. DCAI 2023 is a forum to present applications of innovative techniques for studying and solving complex problems in artificial intelligence and computing areas. This year’s technical program presents both high quality and diversity, with contributions in well-established and evolving areas of research. Specifically, 108 papers were submitted, by authors from 31 different countries representing a truly “wide area network” of research activity. The DCAI’23 technical program has selected 50 full papers in the Special Sessions (ASET, AIMPM, AI4CS, CLIRAI, TECTONIC, PSO-ML, SmartFoF, IoTalentum) and, as in past editions, it will be special issues in ranked journals. This symposium is organized by the LASI and Centro Algoritmi of the University of Minho (Portugal). The authors like to thank all the contributing authors, the members of the Program Committee, National Associations (AEPIA, APPIA), and the sponsors (AIR Institute).

The ManualsModern Projects and Experiments in Organic Chemistry helps instructors turn their organic chemistry laboratories into places of discovery and critical thinking. In addition to traditional experiments, the manual offers a variety of inquiry-based experiments and multi-week projects, giving students a better understanding of how lab work is actually accomplished. Instead of simply following directions, students learn how to investigate the experimental process itself. The only difference between the two versions of the manual is that each is tailor to specific laboratory equipment. Content wise, they are identical. The ProgramModern Projects and Experiments in Organic Chemistry is designed to provide the utmost in quality content, student accessibility, and instructor flexibility. The project consists of: 1) A laboratory manual in two versions: —miniscale and standard-taper microscale equipment — miniscale and Williamson microscale equipment 2) Custom publishing option. All experiments are available through Freeman’s custom publishing service at Freeman Custom Publishing . Instructors can use this service to create their own customized lab manual, even including they own material. 3) Techniques of the Organic Chemistry Laboratory. This concise yet comprehensive companion volume provides students with detailed descriptions of important techniques.
