Team Teaching at the College Level describes a college-level team teaching program which affords unusual opportunities for developing an educational environment that fosters productive personal relationships between and among college students and faculty. The book describes the nature and scope of selected team teaching programs; the manner in which such programs can be administered; the potential impact of team teaching on a developing curriculum; the role of faculty and students who constitute the teaching-learning team; the particular housing requirements of team teaching programs; and finally, the limitations and future prospects of this emerging concept. In the following chapters frequent reference is made to the philosophy, program, and methodology of Boston University's College of Basic Studies, where a team system was first developed in 1949 and where an entire collegiate two-year program of studies functions on a team teaching plan. I Will Survive is the story of Gloria Gaynor, America's "Queen of Disco." It is the story of riches and fame, despair, and finally salvation. Her meteoric rise to stardom in the mid-1970s was nothing short of phenomenal, and hits poured forth that pushed her to the top of the charts, including "Honey Bee," "I Got You Under My Skin," "Never Can Say Goodbye," and the song that has immortalized her, "I Will Survive," which became a #1 international gold seller. With that song, Gloria heralded the international rise of disco that became synonymous with a way of life in the fast lane - the sweaty bodies at Studio 54, the lines of cocaine, the indescribable feeling that you could always be at the top of your game and never come down. But down she came after her early stardom, and problems followed in the wake, including the death of her mother, whose love had anchored the young singer, as well as constant battles with weight, drugs, and alcohol. While her fans always imagined her to be rich, her personal finances collapsed due to poor management; and while many envied her, she felt completely empty inside. In the early 1980s, sustained by her marriage to music publisher Linwood Simon, Gloria took three years off and reflected upon her life. She visited churches and revisited her mother's old Bible. Discovering the world of gospel, she made a commitment to Christ that sustains her to this day.

Autobiography: About the artist/writer, Paula S. Smith (Ida Mae Asbury): graduated from Miami University in August, the same day as her parents celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. In Lazarus' Advertising Department in Columbus, Ohio, she progressed from Assistant Production Manager to Retoucher, to Home Artist, to Fashion Artist, to a Supervisor: Layout Artist - Finish Artist. Her freelance business, Collage, began in 1977. She received a Masters in Art Education in 1984 and began teaching art from 1986 at Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, for the next 21 years. Theater arts membership from 1986 included Black Cultural Productions (television), Oxford Community Theater, Hamilton Civic Theater, and Footlighters when she danced and sang. In 1990 she returned to Oxford to live with her mother, Sarah, and returned to her home church, Bethel AME. She enjoyed drawing and singing jazz, rock and roll, country music, and writing. In 1990 (+3 more years) Paula was chosen by her students for Who's Who Among American Teachers. Honors in 2006 included National Honor Roll's Outstanding American Teachers and in 2010-11 Cambridge Who's Who recognized her as an executive, professional, and entrepreneur of that year and an honored member the next. Her business, Collage, is still functioning; the art in stock includes black and white prints, full-color watercolor prints, original drawings, paintings (acrylic and watercolor), landscapes, and Third World subject matter. Miss Smith believes that in all life and art, whether in subject matter or media, there can be joy in the "doing" and the partnership of discovery.
