"How do you describe a cool spring rain on your face? Impossible! That's how it is when I try to describe what it feels like to be in India. Most words seem useless; adjectives that might otherwise be appropriate miss the mark. I have felt this way for a long time until I read Ivonne Delaflor's book India, The Journey of a Lifetime. Finally, someone else was able to describe the magic, beauty, mystery and heart of India that so many others have failed to fully capture. This book is an opportunity to see the guru in every face. This is the message her books impart more than any other: God, lessons and love are everywhere in each smile, frown, smell, noise and moment. It's what India teaches us. It's what Ivonne surely understands and amazingly communicates to us about a mystical journey through this unique and mysterious continent." -Maggie Rauen, Maggie Rauen.Co-Founder of the Peace by Piece Project, Santa Barbara, CA. 100% of the proceeds benefit Tsunami Disaster Relief Organizations and the Orphanage La Casita De Cancun.
"No one has to tell a rose To spread its fragrance. We are sparks of splendor. Time to do what comes naturally. Rise and shine." Prema Mala is a journey through the heart and the various feelings found there. A compilation of poems, prayers and meditations based on teachings in the Bhakti tradition, this is a book that, hopefully, will not only be read, but ingested, taken into the heart and breathed into the soul. There are moments of triumphant connection and moments of despair that bond the reader and writer until they become linked in a sacred ritual of sorts with Supreme Love at its center. Writer and reader become a part of one soul tribe, each story and thought acknowledging that all of us, are in this together, attempting to navigate this great thing called life. With poems and stories on everything from yoga to spirituality, to despair and even struggles with race, this is not just one writer's story, but it is the story of the soul striving to make the ultimate offering of love to Love.

THE FUTURE IS HERE. India has just sent its first spacecraft to the moon, and the placid city of Mysore is gearing up for its own global recognition with the construction of HeritageLand—Asia’s largest theme park. From behind the formidable gates of Mahalakshmi Gardens to the shanty houses on the edge of town, the people of Mysore are abuzz as they watch their city prepare for a complete transformation. As government officials make plans for the expected tourism extravaganza, Mysore’s residents find themselves swept up in the ferment. Susheela, an elderly widow, is forced into a secretive new life. Uma, trying to escape her painful past, learns the lasting power of local gossip. And Mala must finally confront the reality of her husband’s troubling behaviour. Savagely funny and deeply poignant, The Smoke Is Rising is a riveting portrait of a city hurtling towards an epic clash of modernity and tradition, and all the wandering souls—some hopeful, some broken, and a few somewhere in between—who find themselves caught in the middle.
