Compiled by teams of leading authorities this Specialist Periodical Report on Photochemistry aims to provide an annual review of photo-induced processes.
Detailed studies of cis-mer-HM(SiEt3)(CO)3(PPh3) (M = Ru, Fe) show that near-UV irradiation can result in reductive elimination of Et3SiH as a primary photoprocess. Additionally, qualitative 298 K experiments show that Ph3SiH, (MeO)3SiH, (EtO)3SiH, and MeCl2SiH can be reductively eliminated from the appropriate cis-mer metal complex, establishing elimination of R3SiH as a viable process for a wide range of R.
This comprehensive series of volumes on inorganic chemistry provides inorganic chemists with a forum for critical, authoritative evaluations of advances in every area of the discipline. Every volume reports recent progress with a significant, up-to-date selection of papers by internationally recognized researchers, complemented by detailed discussions and complete documentation. Each volume features a complete subject index and the series includes a cumulative index as well.
Filling the gap in the market for comprehensive coverage of this hot topic, this timely book covers a wide range of organic transformations, e. g. reductions of unsaturated compounds, oxidation reactions, Friedel-Crafts reactions, hydroamination reactions, depolymerizations, transformations of carbon dioxide, oxidative coupling reactions, as well as C-C, C-N, and C-O bond formation reactions. A chapter on the application of zinc catalysts in total synthesis is also included. With its aim of stimulating further research and discussion in the field, this is a valuable reference for professionals in academia and industry wishing to learn about the latest developments.
In this thesis, reductive elimination reactions and their selectivity-determining factors were investigated using ESI and tandem-MS. To this matter, square-planar coordinated coinage- metalate complexes bearing trifluoromethyl ligands were chosen as the model system. The anionic complexes were transferred into the gas phase using ESI and studied through tandem- MS. Fragmentation experiments were used to determine the unimolecular reactivity of these complexes and their fragmentation products. Quantum chemical computations were applied to understand potential energy surfaces of various react...
Filling the need for a ready reference that reflects the vast developments in this field, this book presents everything from fundamentals, applications, various reaction types, and technical applications. Edited by rising stars in the scientific community, the text focuses solely on visible light photocatalysis in the context of organic chemistry. This primarily entails photoinduced electron transfer and energy transfer chemistry sensitized by polypyridyl complexes, yet also includes the use of organic dyes and heterogeneous catalysts. A valuable resource to the synthetic organic community, polymer and medicinal chemists, as well as industry professionals.
