The International Symposium on Future ICT (Future-ICT 2019) in conjunction with the 4th International Symposium on Mobile Internet Security (MobiSec 2019) was held on 17–19 October 2019 in Taichung, Taiwan. The symposium provided academic and industry professionals an opportunity to discuss the latest issues and progress in advancing smart applications based on future ICT and its relative security. The symposium aimed to publish high-quality papers strictly related to the various theories and practical applications concerning advanced smart applications, future ICT, and related communications and networks. It was expected that the symposium and its publications would be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in this field.
In the last decade, signi?cant changes have occurred in the ?eld of vehicle motion planning, and for UAVs in particular. UAV motion planning is especially dif?cult due to several complexities not considered by earlier planning strategies: the - creased importance of differential constraints, atmospheric turbulence which makes it impossible to follow a pre-computed plan precisely, uncertainty in the vehicle state, and limited knowledge about the environment due to limited sensor capabilities. These differences have motivated the increased use of feedback and other control engineering techniques for motion planning. The lack of exact algorithms for these problems and dif?culty inherent in characterizing approximation algorithms makes it impractical to determine algorithm time complexity, completeness, and even soundness. This gap has not yet been addressed by statistical characterization of experimental performance of algorithms and benchmarking. Because of this overall lack of knowledge, it is dif?cult to design a guidance system, let alone choose the algorithm. Throughout this paper we keep in mind some of the general characteristics and requirements pertaining to UAVs. A UAV is typically modeled as having velocity and acceleration constraints (and potentially the higher-order differential constraints associated with the equations of motion), and the objective is to guide the vehicle towards a goal through an obstacle ?eld. A UAV guidance problem is typically characterized by a three-dimensional problem space, limited information about the environment, on-board sensors with limited range, speed and acceleration constraints, and uncertainty in vehicle state and sensor data.
This book presents the most significant contributions to the DINAME 2017 conference, covering a range of dynamic problems to provide insights into recent trends and advances in a broad variety of fields seldom found in other proceedings volumes. DINAME has been held every two years since 1986 and is internationally recognized as a central forum for discussing scientific achievements related to dynamic problems in mechanics. Marine propulsors are key components of the many thousands of ships and boats operating in oceans, lakes, and rivers around the world. The performance of propulsors are important for the environmental impact of ships, underwater noise impact on aquatic fauna, and crew and passenger comfort and safety. This book presents nineteen papers devoted to the hydrodynamics of different types of marine propulsors (conventional propellers, thrusters, and novel solutions). Most of the papers are extended papers from the sixth International Symposium on Marine Propulsors (SMP 2019). Several of the papers deal with cavitation, vortices, and energy saving devices. The papers present high-quality research performed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Experimental Fluid Dynamics (EFD) as well Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This Special Issue of Energies has emerged as a result of the 1st International Conference on Nanofluids (https://icnf2019.com/), which was organized under the auspices of Nanouptake COST Action (Overcoming Barriers to Nanofluids Market Uptake, http://www.nanouptake.eu/) in Castelló (Spain), in June 2019. The foci of ICNf2019 were the production and the characterisation of nanofluids for different areas of applications in the energy fields, namely heat transfer, storage of thermal energy, boiling, and solar systems, as well as industrial applications and health and safety issues. The first conference edition on this topic gathered more than 200 participants from 45 different countries. More than 125 contributions were presented in the nine sections of the congress. Some selected authors were invited to send extended versions of their work to the Energies ICNf2019 Special Issue. After a careful review process, nine articles from six different countries were selected for compilation in this Special Issue: a total of seven full research papers and two reviews. These papers cover a broad range of fundamental and applied research aspects on nanofluid science and development, and reflect the current investigations, knowledge, and challenges encountered in the use of nanofluids for energy applications.
ISCRE 10 Tenth International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering documents the proceedings of the symposium which brought together experts from all over the world to discuss developments in CRE. Efforts were made to cover high added value substances and to encourage papers from industry. Some success was achieved, but there remain significant gaps between Chemists and Chemical Engineers when considering high added value products as well as between researchers and practitioners of CRE. The volume begins with plenary papers covering topics such as challenges in reactor modeling; bioreactor engineering; the design of reaction systems for specialty organic chemicals. This is followed by papers presented during the eight technical sessions. Technical session A focused on the modeling and control of chemical reactions. Technical session B was devoted to studies on biotechnology. Technical session C covered mixing while Technical session D dealt with special reactor systems and chemicals. The papers in Technical session E examined reactions for emission control and recycling. Technical session F covered the safety aspects of CRE. Technical session G focused on the experiments with multiphase reactions while Technical session H dealt with catalytic reactors.
