This collection of papers derives from an undertaking unique in the history of international cooperation. In the spirit of the United Nations Decade of Development, delegations from all the member countries of the United Nations were invited to gather in Geneva, in February 1963, for a conference on the Application of Science and Technology for the Benefit of the Less Developed Areas.
