Excerpt from Minutes of the Farmers' Club of Pennsylvania: A Record of Seventy Years, 1849-1919 Minutes of meetings and dinners between 1860 and 1891 were printed in 1892, but only two copies of the volume covering that period can now be found. Since 1891 the minutes are in existence in manuscript, but unfortunately are not complete; a number of dates when dinners were given and meetings held during the past twenty-eight years are merely noted without further detailed entries. Mention is made in 1883 that the proceedings of the Club consist of nine volumes. Presumably manuscript minutes are meant; but Mr. Rudulph Ellis records the fact of his inability to find them when he became Secretary of the Club upon the death of Mr. George W. Childs. The Club, therefore, has lost the official record of its meetings and dinners prior to 1860. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
