The last two decades have witnessed an enormous growth with regard to ap plications of information theoretic framework in areas of physical, biological, engineering and even social sciences. In particular, growth has been spectac ular in the field of information technology,soft computing,nonlinear systems and molecular biology. Claude Shannon in 1948 laid the foundation of the field of information theory in the context of communication theory. It is in deed remarkable that his framework is as relevant today as was when he 1 proposed it. Shannon died on Feb 24, 2001. Arun Netravali observes "As if assuming that inexpensive, high-speed processing would come to pass, Shan non figured out the upper limits on communication rates. First in telephone channels, then in optical communications, and now in wireless, Shannon has had the utmost value in defining the engineering limits we face". Shannon introduced the concept of entropy. The notable feature of the entropy frame work is that it enables quantification of uncertainty present in a system. In many realistic situations one is confronted only with partial or incomplete information in the form of moment, or bounds on these values etc. ; and it is then required to construct a probabilistic model from this partial information. In such situations, the principle of maximum entropy provides a rational ba sis for constructing a probabilistic model. It is thus necessary and important to keep track of advances in the applications of maximum entropy principle to ever expanding areas of knowledge.

A single-valued neutrosophic linguistic set (SVNLS) is a popular fuzzy tool for describing deviation information in uncertain complex situations. The aim of this paper is to study some logarithmic distance measures and study their usefulness in multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems within single-valued neutrosophic linguistic (SVNL) environments.
The processing of uncertainty information has gradually became one of the hot issues in arti cial intelligence eld, and the infor- mation measures of uncertainty information processing are of importance. Single value neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) provide us a exible mathematical framework to process uncertainty information. In this paper, we mainly consider the measures of SVNSs. The existing information measures mostly are constructed based on the two typical inclusion relations about single value neutrosopgic sets. However, there exist some practical problems that do not apply to the two typical inclusion relations. Therefore, there exists another inclusion relation which is called the type-3 inclusion relation about SVNSs.
The linguistic neutrosophic numbers (LNNs) can express the truth, indeterminacy, and falsity degrees independently by three linguistic variables. Hence, they are an effective tool for describing indeterminate linguistic information under linguistic decision-making environments. Similarity measures are usual tools in decision-making problems.
Distance measure and similarity measure have been applied to various multi-criteria decision-making environments, like talent selections, fault diagnoses and so on. Some improved distance and similarity measures have been proposed by some researchers. However, hesitancy is reflected in all aspects of life, thus the hesitant information needs to be considered in measures. Then, it can effectively avoid the loss of fuzzy information. However, regarding fuzzy information, it only reflects the subjective factor. Obviously, this is a shortcoming thatwill result in an inaccurate decision conclusion. Thus, based on the definition of a probabilistic neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (PNHFS), as an extended theory of fuzzy set, the basic definition of distance, similarity and entropy measures of PNHFS are established. Next, the interconnection among the distance, similarity and entropy measures are studied. Simultaneously, a novel measure model is established based on the PNHFSs. In addition, the new measure model is compared by some existed measures. Finally, we display their applicability concerning the investment problems, which can be utilized to avoid redundant evaluation processes.
This paper studied the single-valued neutrosophic linguistic distance measures based on the induced aggregation method. Firstly, we proposed a single-valued neutrosophic linguisticinduced ordered weighted averaging distance (SVNLIOWAD) measure, which is a new extension of the existing distance measures based on the induced aggregation view.
