This article reports a measurement of the cross section of prompt isolated photon pair production in p{bar p} collisions at a total energy √s = 1.96 TeV using data of 5.36 fb−1 integrated luminosity collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The measured cross section, differential in basic kinematic variables, is compared with three perturbative QCD predictions, a leading order (LO) parton shower calculation and two next-to-leading order (NLO) calculations. The NLO calculations reproduce most aspects of the data. By including photon radiation from quarks before and after hard scattering, the parton shower prediction becomes competitive with the NLO predictions.

This thesis presents the measurement of prompt diphoton production rate in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV using the upgraded Collider Detector at FermiLab (CDF II). This process deserves some attention for the following reasons. The H [yields] [gamma][gamma] decay mode is an important channel for the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson searches in the low mass region (M[sub H]

A measurement of the inclusive production cross section of isolated prompt photons in proton-antiproton collisions at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$=1.96TeV is presented. The results are obtained using the full Run II data sample collected with the Collider Detector at the Fermilab Tevatron, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 9.5fb$^{-1}$. The cross section is measured as a function of photon transverse energy, $E_T^{\gamma}$, in the range 30$
A prompt photon cross section measurement from the CDF experiment at the Fermilab p{bar p} Collider is presented Detector and trigger upgrades, as well as six times the integrated luminosity compared with our previous publication, have contributed to a much more precise measurement and extended P{sub T} range. As before, the cross section agrees qualitatively with QCD calculations but has a steeper slope at low P{sub T}.
The diphoton differential cross-section as a function of mass up to 300 GeV/c2, q{sub T} up to 100 GeV/c, and opening angle over a range of 0 to [pi] radians is measured. The measurement is performed using 1046.19 pb−1 of data collected at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory using the D0 detector. This analysis considers all direct diphoton states but attempts to suppress contributions due to fragmentation.
