James Ellis Sr. (ca.1723-1800/1801) was born in either Prince George's County, Maryland or in Wales. He married Mary Veatch in 1749 (pro- bably in old Frederick County, Maryland), and moved to Washington County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, California and elsewhere.

Nathaniel Washburn (ca.1739-ca.1818/1819) married Christina Schever probably in 1764. Christina appears to be the daughter of Hendrik and Maria Schever (Shafer, Shaver, etc.). It is quite certain that their children were Joseph, John, Patience, Susanna, Parmenas, Anna Barbara, Marie, Ebenezer, James, Abraham, and Sarah. They lived in Albany, New York and moved to Northampton County, Pennsylvania before 1775, and then to Monroe township, Adams County, Ohio in 1796. Nathaniel was active in the Revolutionary War. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky and elsewhere.
Jacob Bernhard, Sr. was born in about 1715 in Germany. He emigrated in 1738 and settled in Pennsylvania. He married Anna Maria and the had three known children, Jacob, Elizabeth and Peter. He died 1 October 1784. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Ohio, Oklahoma, Indiana and Ontario.
