Studies on institutional mechanisms for integrating environmental considerations into economic policy making in selected countries of the ESCAP region. They describe the overall policy approach to dealing with environmental issues, examines existing institutional arrangements at national and local levels, and presents some of the challenges countries will have to meet. It must be said that, while the intent may be there, and certain elements have been tackled, few if any of the developing countries in the region have been ale to find a viable institutional mechanism for developing and implementing integrated policies which could be used as a model for others.
