Mildred is a 90 Year old mother of 6 from St. Louis, Missouri with a Social Work degree. She loves the outdoors and writes haiku inspired works about the 22 acre woods in the Missouri Ozarks that she shared with her husband Walter. Mildred's Hobbies include water colors, hiking, gardening, swimming, scrabble, travel and reading. I was first inspired to write by the beauty of nature from experiences on 22 acres of my woods in the rural Missouri Ozarks, where my architect husband was, over a period of 9 years, building our retirement dream house by himself. My original idea was to express my delight with my woods and a favorite Missouri State Park (Hawn). I first recorded impressions and observations then my yearly retreat at Trappist monk, Thomas Merton's Monastery infiltrated along with memories of growing up in a diverse city neighborhood. The final section consists of several wonderful vacations and excursions.
