Introduced perennial pasture grasses provided the mainstay for the animal industries in the temperate high-rainfall region of Australia. This book is the result of the First National Perennial Grass Workshop which was held in October 1993 and involved representatives from State Departments of Agriculture and Primary Industries, CSIRO, NZ AgResearch, universities, major seed companies, rural industry research corporations and primary producers. The programme comprised invited reviews covering the major introduced species and native perennial grasses.
