An exploration of one of the most universal human obsessions charts the rise of longevity science from its alchemical beginnings to modern-day genetic interventions and enters the world of those whose lives are shaped by a belief in immortality.
A ruthless Norse warrior will defeat anything standing between him and his beautiful obsession - even Death itself. A millennium ago, Aidan the Fierce lost his heart to the Valkyrie Regin the Radiant, but he was murdered before he could win her. Since then, he has reincarnated into different identities, with his memory of the past buried deep. This time he has returned as Declan Chase, a human soldier bent on exterminating all immortals - including Regin, his newest captive. The proud Northman that Regin still mourns has been replaced by a twisted madman. Once tortured by immortals, Chase now metes out vengeance against them, and he's fixated on her. Regin's only hope is to make him remember her, though she knows that whenever he recovers his memories, history will repeat itself, and he'll be lost to her again. . . .

Isabel has had some very unusual experiences when it comes to men. In fact, they typically tend to steer completely clear of her. One lousy tornado and a few storms and she is dubbed 'lighting girl' by all. However, on the eve of her 22nd birthday things change literally, overnight. When Isabel wakes up in a dream with a man not fit for human consumption she can't believe it. And upon waking things go even more haywire. Never could she have imagined the world that she sees once the 'blinders' are off. Abandoned by the very person who sent these gifts to her to see the world for what it is, she is naturally skeptical of it all. Her men problems before were laughable. Enter two of the most gorgeous creatures she had ever laid eyes upon. Add a curse and a requirement to pick one in the next 9 days. Make that nights, since she can only reach them in her dreams. Oh, and it just so happens if she picks the wrong one then the veil between all the magical realms could be destroyed and create ultimate chaos and death. Both men want to seduce her and make her his, but only one will lead to restoring the realms, and her heart. So heavy the burden, so great the stakes. Will she even survive the war that has already begun to rage between the worlds before her choice is made? There are the waking hours too, that are contending for her fate. And very little help is on her side....
A few hours ago, Sherry Carne would have sworn that vampires didn’t exist. That’s before rogue immortals rampage through her store, leaving bloody chaos (literally) in their wake. The kicker comes when Sherry learns that one of the vamps on the bad guys’ trail may be her life mate. Her head says it’s impossible. The rest of her takes one look at Basileios Argeneau and has much more interesting ideas. Whatever Basil expected in a life mate, funny, outspoken Sherry isn’t it. But mind-blowing chemistry and instinct don’t lie. They tell him something else, too—that Sherry’s connection to the immortal world goes deeper than she knows. And that she’s in the kind of danger only Basil can save her from—if she’ll just trust him, now and forever . . .
Is There Life After Death? For many, death is terrifying. We try to live as long as possible while hoping that science will soon find a way to allow us to live, if not forever, then at least a very long time. Whether we deny our mortality though literal or symbolic immortality or try to turn death into something benign, our attempts fail us. But what if the real solution is not in denying death’s reality, but in acknowledging it while enjoying a hope for a wonderful forever? Clay Jones, a professor of Christian apologetics, explores the ways people face death and how these “immortality projects” are unsuccessful, even destructive. Along the way, he points to the hope of the only true immortality available to all—the truth that God already offers a path to our hearts’ deepest longing: glorious resurrection to eternal life.
"They are the dreams and nightmares of humanity, the ancient seeds of fairy-tale and superstition. These are the Immortals, creatures of magic that should live forever ... and they are fading. When a horror two thousand years dead returns to contemporary England, creatures long thought lost to myth and legend collide in a scramble for survival that could tumble civilisation back into the dark ages of blood and death." -- Amazon.com.
Hello everyone, In this book, I described my feelings for a special person that I met. She is by all means a rare girl, and I can talk about her all day. You are going to read what I think of her as an extraordinary human being. There are 28 poems in this book that represent her birthday. I wrote them for her and decided to publish as a book to honor her. Also, I want to share my way of thinking of love. I personally think love is a long-lasting bond which goes beyond lust. It is a beautiful journey that two people can make together. Unfortunately, that beauty of love is disappearing in our modern world. Now it is being sexually objectified just to find momentary pleasure. I hope this book also helps some people think about love in a deeper way more than how it is represented in our society today.
