Toddlers will love following Alex the cat as they explore a farm filled with lift-the-flaps and touch-and-feel extras. Cows, chickens, chicks, sheep, and pigs interrupt their busy play to join Alex the cat in a touch- and-feel-wading pool. Silly details such as a sheep getting a haircut and a chick riding a scooter will delight toddlers as they lift-the -flaps and name all the things they see in their own world.

A heart can be hopeful, or silly, or happy. A heart can be rugged, or snappy, or lonely. A heart holds every different feeling, and debut author-artist Michael Hall captures each one with a delicate touch. For each feeling, the bold, graphic artwork creates an animal out of heart shapes, from "eager as a beaver" to "angry as a bear" to "thoughtful as an owl." An accessible and beautiful debut, My Heart Is Like a Zoo is everything a classic picture book should be: honest, sincere, and speaking directly to even the very youngest child. Ages: 0 - 5
Different animals display their accompanying sounds, making for a very noisy zoo. On board pages.
With touch-and-feel, lift-the-flaps and peek-through holes, this book is an interactive adventure.
Elmwood Park Zoo was established in 1924 when roughly 16 acres of land and a small group of animals were donated to the borough of Norristown. Although the early years of the zoo were more akin to a small farm, it has gone through an extensive expansion during the past few decades. This expansion and the continued revitalization of Elmwood Park Zoo include some notable residents, such as the zoo's owl, who has become the mascot of Temple University, and its bald eagle, a sideline regular for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles. The zoo today, with new features including a zip line and a giraffe exhibit, looks to the future, with plans for even more exhibits, a new restaurant, and an additional 20 acres yet to be developed.
Sammy and his friends are at it again! This time they are playing a game called "Hello...What's YOUR Name?" You can play along, too! You might have to wait a bit for your turn, though, because Sammy is having a little trouble figuring out the rules of the game. Select new names at the end of the book to continue playing on your own or with friends - even after story time is over.
