These multiplied so rapidly from bulblets that we were forced to dispose of a portion of the increase. Our planting soon comprised several hundred varieties and assumed the nature of a gladiolus museum. We realized that many of the varieties we were growing did not repay us in pleasure for the work expended in their growing. We decided to eliminate such varieties and found that many high priced novelties, several purchased at ten dollars per bulblet, fell in the undesirable class.
