Roy Rockwood was a house pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for boy's adventure books. Edward Stratemeyer had earlier used the pseudonym "Roy Rockwood" for the book The Wizard of the Sea; or a Trip Under the Ocean.

Roy Rockwood was a house pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for boy's adventure books. The name is most well-remembered for the "Bomba, the Jungle Boy" and "Great Marvel" series. "Five Thousand Miles Underground" is part of the latter series.
