Forget Dan Brown, this is very probably the REAL story, and it's more beautiful than you could imagine. In this book, the author attempts to tell the story of Jesus and Mary in the first person, hoping thereby to enter their minds to some degree. Jesus, as well as being the Eternal Word of God, is seen as being completely human, "like us in all things except sin" as St Paul puts it. The implication is that besides experiencing weakness, limitation and even ignorance, he must have been a fully integrated sexual being, with his sexuality playing a decisive part in his psychology. In accordance with the theory advanced by Ramon K. Jusino in his article "Mary Magdalen - author of the fourth Gospel?" Mary is seen as the mysterious "disciple whom Jesus loved" who features prominently in the fourth Gospel. Their relationship is explored with what is hoped is openness and honesty. The work is itself fictional, but follows closely the Gospel narratives. The generous preview gives a good taste of the book.

John Bergsma’s popular Bible Basics for Catholics, which has sold more than 60,000 copies, offers readers an accessible vision of salvation history as it unfolds in the Bible, showing readers how the Bible points us to the saving life and work of Jesus. This new edition includes an additional chapter on covenant fulfillment in the Book of Revelation. Bergsma brings to his theology a combination of academic expertise, pastoral wisdom, and unique playfulness. Bible Basics for Catholics is based on Bergsma’s popular Introduction to Theology course at Steubenville. As a teacher, Bergsma has an uncanny ability to make complex ideas understandable and faith-inspiring while staying true to both Catholic teaching and biblical scholarship. Readers will begin to see the Christian understanding of salvation by walking through the Old Testament, going through the great stories of Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, the great kings and prophets of Israel, and culminating in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
In this book, the author gives his personal vision of the Catholic Faith. He sees the Church as being in need of fundamental renewal: the renewal needed being mainly concerned with a fresh understanding of the meaning of Christian love, particularly in relation to the second part of the Great Commandment, that we must love our neighbour as ourselves. This would involve major changes in the very structure of the Church herself.A FREE download is offered, as his main purpose is to share his ideas as widely as possible.
