THE MOTHERSHIP OF DISASTERS HAS ARRIVED! As the Earth tilts on its axis, precipitating a new Ice Age, hordes of rabid lemmings race towards Europe. Meanwhile a time-travelling Hitler emerges in sleepy Devonshire and proceeds to clone himself in preparation for the march on London. Will a Fourth Reich rise to strangle the Mother of Parliaments? Or will London be devastated by a nuclear accident on the Bakerloo line? The luckless crew of Spaceship Earth have no time to pose such questions as an epidemic of demonic possession and prophetic visions erupts in the USA and an approaching envoy from a distant galaxy broadcasts the following message: YOU EARTHLING SCUM ARE THE DREGS OF THE UNIVERSE. WE COME TO ANNIHILATE YOU PAINFULLY AND RAPE YOUR PLANET. Can things get any worse? Sure they can. The disasters are just getting started! About Earthdoom!: “. . . two of the funniest writers around in the SF world.” —Vector “After Earthdoom! You won't, of course, be able to read another Disaster Novel without giggling (but don't you, anyway?)” —Paperback Inferno “David Langford and John Grant . . . form a compounded humour which is hard to beat.” —Mid-Devon Advertiser
Go beyond the classic game Doom in this second book in a terrifying space epic... They were creatures seemingly spawned straight from the pits of Hell—demons, zombies, fire-breathing imps—all too horrifically close to the stuff of nightmare to be real. But they were. And on the inhospitable moons of Mars, Corporal Flynn "Fly" Taggart, Earth's last line of defense against a seemingly inexhaustible supply of alien warriors, beat them back almost single-handedly. But Taggart discovers that the war had barely begun...for while he was fighting them on Mars, the hellish creatures had established a beachhead on Earth itself. Now, with the aid of a fourteen-year-old female computer genius, an unrepentantly Mormon sniper, and the best soldier in this woman's army, Fly Taggart must defeat the invaders—and their treacherous human allies—yet again...
Our thrilling new line bringing new tales of Marvel’s Super Heroes and villains begins with the infamous Doctor Doom risking all to steal his heart’s desire from the very depths of Hell Notorious villain Doctor Victor von Doom has finally found a solution for his oldest obsession: rescuing his mother’s soul from the clutches of Hell. An alliance with the reclusive sage, Maria von Helm, has provided the key to Doom’s latest invention. Fusing their super-science and sorcery, Doom has created the Harrower, a device that will open a rift and wrench his mother’s soul from the netherworld. Back in the human world, however, rebel forces threaten to overrun Latveria and topple its dark leader – and revolution couldn’t come at a more dangerous time than when the gates of Hell itself have been unlocked.
The third fantasy novel in a sequence of four (after The Legions of Fire and Out of the Waters) set in Carce an alternate ancient Roman Empire. Supernatural forces threaten to destroy the world.
Fascinated by caves and digging holes since childhood, Manfred discovers a path through to another realm via a Neolithic copper mine at Mount Gabriel in Schull, Ireland. The world of Hollow Earth, while no Utopia, is a sophisticated civilisation. Its genderless inhabitants are respectful of their environment, religious and cultural differences are accommodated without engendering hate or suspicion, and grain not missile silos are built. Yet Ari and Zest accompany Manfred back to the surface world. ‘Come with me and see my world.’ So begins an extraordinary adventure in which the three wander the Earth like Virgil's Aeneas, Ari and Zest seeking re-entry to their own world. The Hollow Earthers are shocked at the cruelty and lies of the surface world, the dieback spreading through the forests. Yet they are seduced by the world's temptations. Kinsella's parable draws on a rich tradition of Hollow Earth literature and science fiction including Bradshaw's The Goddess of Atvabar (1892).With strange beauty, its alluring trajectory vividly captures our 21st century world in crisis. Like Manfred we are often blindly complicit in the earth's downfall. ‘Happiness is under our feet.’ sings the narrator in this passionate, layered and compelling new novel. ‘Combining a twenty-first century sense of planetary peril with a 1970s funkadelic vibe, Hollow Earth reaches to the extremes of our collective breath, its alpha and omega...this is a novel of exacting self-scrutiny which also manages to be outrageous fun’ — Nicholas Birns
This story pertains to three different stories that have been foretold or even foreseen, but to fully witness the destruction of each one can show each of us how we are able to survive. The first of the three stories was called “The Plague,” in which killed about ten to twenty million people in Europe. The second of the three stories is called “Mysterious Cylinder,” in which unleashed a creature of an unknown origin upon the world. The third and final of the three stories is “Large size meteor that struck the Earth,” and when it did hit the Earth it once again unleashed hell onto this world.
