The sub-title of the book is ‘a tale of two entities’. The first entity takes place in New York City where a boy grows up as a typical street-smart kid, fighting and stealing and playing in the streets. After graduation from high school, his closest friend goes to college to study finance and the stock market and, he encourages his friend to study from his text books so he can some day get a good job in financial institutions, which he does, and becomes very successful. He gets soured on the life in the big city with the New Yorkers becoming belligerent and ill tempered, not life he embellishes, so he wants a change. He winds up in the wilderness of the panhandle of New York State, which is totally opposite of what he was used to. The second entity puts him in a primitive environment where he has to learn to live a different lifestyle and he generates a future with an Indian maiden where they start a family. The adventure of living in the wild is now his passion, and he wouldn’t change it for anything.

About the Author Larry J Kachik, MD grew up in western Pennsylvania. He obtained his premedical education at Johns Hopkins University. He never graduated because he was accepted into medical school after his junior year. He received his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College. Although his main interest throughout medical school was emergency medicine, he elected to complete a residency in Family Medicine. Although there were emergency medicine residencies at the time, emergency medicine was not an ABMS approved specialty. Upon completion of his residency, he began his career in emergency medicine. During his career he obtained and maintained board certification from both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and The American Academy of Family Physicians. His clinical work in the emergency department spanned twenty-five years and included fifteen years as the Chair of his department. In addition, Dr Kachik also was appointed as the medical director of an acute care hospital. Upon completion of his clinical career Dr Kachik transitioned to working as a physician surveyor for The Joint Commission. He felt it was, and still is, the premier healthcare accrediting body in the world. While working for The Joint Commission he became a member of their Speaker’s Bureau and wrote occasional items for various Joint Commission Resources publications. He was a surveyor in the hospital accreditation division. He surveyed acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, Department of Defense hospitals and hospitals run by the Bureau of Prisons. He also participated frequently in “for cause” surveys done to investigate serious hospital complaints. Dr. Kachik became infatuated with harness racing while in college. Shortly after he began his clinical career, he embarked upon racehorse ownership. Over a span of greater than twenty years, he owned interests in more than fifty horses. He is still an avid race fan to this day.
Crash-land on an alien barbarian planet and told there’s no way home? LMAO! I’m a rocket scientist. Miss me with that noise. Anyone else might have a nervous breakdown, but I was abducted with my besties! Between us, we have fifteen PhDs. We will be getting off this planet. Trust. No, I will not be finding an eternal bonded mate among the seven-foot-tall alien males. No, I will not be wearing a furkini and walking around barefoot. And no, I will not be moving into a cave with no internet or running water and accepting my fate like the rest of the freed human women on this craft-cocktail-forsaken planet. Two liquid hydrogen rockets and a smidge of deep-space travel later, and we’re back home on Earth. Except that our spaceship had stowaways. Now there’s a seven-foot-tall alien named Cassius in my Los Angeles condo. He’s calmly explaining that according to the ancestors, we are to be eternally mated and have a litter of children. Also, he’s wearing a loincloth. And he has horns. Wipe that smirk off your face. No, it is not as sexy as it sounds. He barked at my cat. He harassed my busybody Karen neighbor (actually, I’m okay with that one). And he’s obsessed with the ice maker in my fridge. What’s a smart girl to do? The smart thing is to build a rocket ship and send Cassius and his other hot alien friends back to their home planet. The not-smart thing to do is fall into those deep blue-gray eyes and let him show me just how good that forked tongue feels. And the downright stupid thing to do is fall in love with an alien. This is a stand-alone, full-length, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, complete with bad space puns, hot guys with horns, and enough steam to cause a supernova. Happily ever after guaranteed!
