The term “Five-Fold ministry” has been coined in reference to a list of five ministry Gifts given by God to enrich His Church as listed in Ephesians 4:11-13. These ministry Gifts are the pastor, apostle, prophet, evangelist, and teacher. Today, a sect of Christianity teaches that the Five-Fold ministry, along with miracles and the Gifts of the Spirit, all ceased with the first apostles. Those who hold this view have become known as “cessationists.” On the other side of the aisle are those who contend that the Five-Fold ministry, along with miracles and Gifts of the Spirit, are continuing today, and these have become known as “continuationists.” Most of the modern Church in the West has behaved as though there is little to no value in Spiritual Gifts and the Five-Fold ministry and has therefore carelessly discarded them, leaving them for “less intelligent” people who seek after “emotionalism.” It was always the Father’s intention, however, that the many manifestations of the benefits of the Holy Spirit would become apparent in value to us through the centuries. This book demystifies Spiritual Gifts, demonstrates the modern-day application of the Five-Fold ministry, and why we are unwise to minimize or ignore them.

Tinka Belle returns to her roots in the dark underbelly of the city of tomorrow – the slums of Wonderland, where she shares an alley squat with her young friend Tip, a boy with a long-held secret and a hidden past. This sequel to Wonderland reveals what lies in the shadows of the glitz and glamor of the art deco architectural marvel of Wonderland, where the Yellow Brick Road leads through the dangerous Tenement Row, home of Old Mombi who sells abducted children and young women to the highest bidder; the local brothel, Glinda Goodwitch's Palace of Pleasure; The Quadling, the seedy bar belonging to ex-prizefighter Jack Pumpkinhead, whose face resembles a smashed gourd; and the territory claimed by Gen. Jinjur and her army of punk rock lesbians.

Claire forbids Marty from coming around her because, while driving under the influence, he caused the death of his wife, Elizabeth, who was Claire's sister. Aided by Michael and Lizzy, an employee of the newspaper, a battle ensues to unite Andrew and Andrea. Art historian David Lubin examines the work of six nineteenth-century American artists to show how their paintings both embraced and resisted dominant social values. Lubin argues that artists such as George Bingham and Lily Martin Spencer were aware of the underlying social conflicts of their time and that their work reflected the nation's ambivalence toward domesticity, its conflicting ideas about child rearing, its racial disharmony, and many other issues central to the formation of modern America.--From publisher description.

Christiane Alpers discusses the contribution and role Christian theology plays in developing of the democratic life in post-Christendom societies. She discusses the three major approaches to this debate – public theology, Radical Orthodoxy, and post-liberal Protestantism – in order to illustrate the shared assumption that such an enhancement should be understood in terms of solving existing political problems. The volume builds on and combines public theology's aspiration to craft a non-triumphant political theology, fit for a post-Christendom context, Radical Orthodoxy's hesitancy to embrace secularism as neutral centre for present democracies; as well as post-liberalism's Christocentric outlook. Alpers engages with a wide variety of thinkers, such as John Milbank, Graham Ward, John Howard Yoder, Kathryn Tanner and Edward Schillebeeckx; to suggest that a political theology in the post-Christendom context could build on the faith that Christ alone has redeemed the whole world.
