Research is a process of enquiry and investigation, it is systematic, methodical and ethical and it can help to solve problems and increase knowledge. The book enables the user to gain a quick, basic appreciation for many of the key concepts in research in the process of assessing the usefulness of a research study. “Methodology” implies more than simply the methods you intend to use to collect data. It is often necessary to include a consideration of the concepts and theories which underlie the methods. For instance, if you intend to highlight a specific feature of a sociological theory or test an algorithm for some aspect of information retrieval, or test the validity of a particular system, you have to show that you understand the underlying concepts of the methodology. In other words it is less than that of a (0253). The book is comprehensive, clear and user friendly.
