Can an innocent miss with a preposterous plan win the jaded heart of a duke? Goldie Mae needs a duke. If she doesn't produce one, she'll lose the charming English estate that has become the only home she has ever known. When a tall, dark stranger with a sardonic drawl and glittering green eyes mistakes Goldie's bathing for "drowning" and drags her out of the water to "save" her, she believes she's found the man who can make all her dreams come true. She offers to give the bemused fellow "duke lessons", not realizing she is instructing the very man born to the role. Saber Tremayne, the Duke of Ravenhurst, can't resist going along with the golden-haired beauty's far-fetched masquerade. As Goldie teaches Saber how to behave like a duke, he begins to instruct her in the tender and delectable pleasures a man and woman can share. Both Saber and Goldie are more than willing pupils. But is it too late for the disenchanted duke to learn the most important lesson of all--how to love again? What do Boston, Dublin, and Sierra Leone have in common? The movement of blood diamonds at enormous profit but grave human expense: mafia killings in Boston and Ireland and child enslavement and murder in Sierra Leone. And who is ensnared in the middle of all of this - Michael Knight and Lex Devlin. Can they stop the enormously profitable trade of these tainted jewels? They must come between the Italian mafia in North Boston and the Irish mafia in South Boston including some remnants of the IRA in Ireland. They must also pit themselves against the enslaved and deadly child-army in Sierra Leone, who smuggle these diamonds into the mainstream for cash to buy weapons and drugs. At great personal risk, Knight and Devlin struggle to find a solution that satisfies this disparate combination of characters and, hopefully, dampens the diamond flow.
An offbeat, funny and heartwarming romantic novel from the fabulous King of Strictly, Craig Revel Horwood.

The mining and sales of diamonds by parties to participants of armed conflicts, notably in Africa, are regarded as a significant factor fuelling such hostilities. These diamonds, labelled 'conflict diamonds', make up an estimated 3.7 per cent to 15 per cent of the value of the global diamond trade. In response to public pressure to halt the trade of conflict diamonds and due to the persistence of diamond-related conflicts, governments and multi-lateral organisations have taken diplomatic action to combat the trade. Several international policy making forums, including the UN, have addressed the problem, and the international diamond industry and non-governmental organisations have proposed a range of reforms and legislative initiatives to halt the illicit trade. This new book examines the diamond-related African conflicts, the various methods that are being researched and used to 'tag' diamonds with microscopic markings, and the efforts taken to regulate the marketing and exporting of diamonds.
