Dhruva, a bright star right in the middle of a large constellation (Dhruva mandala), was a great devotee of Lord Narayana at the tender age of five. Son of King Uttanapada and Queen Suneethi, he left home and went to the forest in search of the Lord after his step-mother forbade him from sitting on his father’s lap and told him to make himself worthy of his father’s love. Narada met him on the way and tried to persuade the child to return home but Dhruva was bent upon achieving what his father and grandfather had not. He performed very severe penance and meditated on the Dwadashakshara manthra into which Narada had initiated him. The young devotee not only got the Lord’s darshan but also experienced His presence within himself. After this, the Lord granted him immortal status but not until he had performed his duties to his kingdom and his people. Dhruva went on to becoming the emperor after his father became too old for state duties. He avenged the death of his brother at the hands of a Yaksha by killing thousands of yakshas. Only his grandfather, Swayambhu Manu, was able to convince him to stop the bloodshed. This pleased Kubera as Dhruva had renounced anger and hatred. By and by,Dhruva handed over the reins of his kingdom to his son and sat in deep meditation of Lord SriHari. Our other books here can be searched using #BharathaSamskruthiPrakashana

An analysis of the current (February 2009) status and future potential of India's nuclear fuel cycle is presented in this book. Such a fuel cycle assessment is important, but relatively opaque because India regards various aspects of its nuclear fuel cycle as strategically sensitive. Any study therefore necessarily depends upon reverse calculations based on the information that is available, expert assessments, engineering judgment and anecdotal information. In this work every effort is made to provide transparency to these foundations, so that changes can be made in light of alternative expectations or subsequent information. This book should be of interest to policy experts, governmental specialists, technologists, nuclear technologists, and others seeking to understand and explain the associated facts and potential consequences of the recent U.S.-India civil nuclear accord. Table of Contents: Introduction / A Brief History of the Indian Nuclear Program / Indian Nuclear Facilities / Fuel Cycle Analysis: From Beginning to Present Day / Fuel Cycle Analysis: Future Projections / Alternate Reactor Systems / Conclusions / Acknowledgements
Srimad-Bhagavatam, an epic philosophical and literary classic, holds a prominent position in India's voluminous written wisdom. The timeless wisdom of India is expressed in the Vedas, ancient Sanskrit texts that touches upon all fields of human knowledge. Originally preserved through oral tradition, the Vedas were first put into writing by Srila Vyasadeva, the "literary incarnation of God." After compiling the Vedas, Srila Vyasadeva was inspired by his spiritual master to present their profound essence in the form of Srimad-Bhagavatam. Known as "the ripened fruit of the tree of Vedic literature," Srimad-Bhagavatam is the most complete and authoritative exposition of Vedic knowledge. After writing the Bhagavatam, Vyasa taught it to his son, Shukadeva Goswami, who later spoke the Bhagavatam to Maharaja Parikshit in an assembly of sages on the bank of the sacred Ganges River. Although Maharaja Parikshit was a great rajarshi (saintly king) and the emperor of the world, when he received notice of his death seven days in advance, he renounced his entire kingdom and retired to the bank of the Ganges to seek spiritual enlightenment. The questions of King Parikshit and Shukadeva Goswami's illuminating answers, concerning everything from the nature of the self to the origin of the universe, are the basis of Srimad-Bhagavatam. This edition of Bhagavatam is the only complete English translation with an elaborate and scholarly commentary, and it is the first edition widely available to the English-reading public. This work is the product of the scholarly and devotional effort of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the world's most distinguished teacher of Indian religious and philosophical thought. His Sanskrit scholarship and intimate familiarity with Vedic culture combine to reveal to the West a magnificent exposition of this important classic.

The Vishnu Purana is believed to be one of the most important Puranas and most valuable ancient records of the faith called ?Sanatan Dharma? which erroneously often called the Hindu Dharma. It has its value enhanced for two reasons; one, it has detailed description of how a man should live in the world. Secondly, since its base is devotion to Vishnu who is held to be the most important deity of this faith it gathers added significance. Its stories reveal about the various exploits of Vishnu in his different incarnations. But surprisingly it omits certain important incarnation of Vishnu viz. Ram incarnation and the earlier incarnations. It chiefly centres around the incarnation of Vishnu as lord Krishna, the most potent one all the incarnations of this deity.
