Take Erica Bloom’s latest case of an Otter Lake bride whose BFF is MIA at the time she’s supposed to perform her duties as maid of honor . . . only to be found DOA. Erica and her security team—minus her beloved Grady, who’s on vacation, trying to stay out of town business and has a no-nonsense sheriff covering for him—have followed every possible lead to find out what really happened to the young woman. Is her death the result of a bachelorette party gone wildly wrong? Or did someone with cold feet snap—and turn into a cold-blooded killer? Praise for the Otter Lake Mystery series “A frolicking good time . . . with a heroine who challenges Stephanie Plum for the title of funniest sleuth.” —Denise Swanson, New York Times–bestselling author “Time spent with the folks in Otter Lake is well worthwhile, with writing that is witty, contemporary, and winning.” —Kirkus Reviews “A delightful mystery with laugh-out-loud moments, a touch of romance, and a fun, sassy style. First in a new cozy mystery series from Minnie Crockwell. Settling into her new condominium on Mirror Pond in Northern Virginia, Sallie Chilcoat, a recent widow, wonders what to do with the rest of her life. She had planned to continue traveling with her military husband, but his early death leaves her at loose ends. Now, she stares out the window at the pond and contemplates learning to kayak...or taking up painting...or climbing Mount Everest. Movement in the overwater gazebo catches her eye, and she grabs up her people-watching binoculars to see a man sitting inside the gazebo playing an accordion. Curious about the musician who plays such a rare instrument, Sallie trots down to the pier to investigate. The term “investigate” takes on a whole new meaning when Sallie reaches the gazebo to discover not a happy musician, but a dead body and a missing accordion. Forget climbing Mount Everest! Sallie finds herself immersed in the mystery of the Death at the Gazebo.
“Fans of laugh-out-loud romantic suspense will enjoy this new author as she joins the ranks of Janet Evanovich, Katie MacAllister, and Jennifer Crusie.”—Booklist, on An Affair to Dismember “Elise Sax will win your heart.”—New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis My name’s Gladie Burger, and my Grandma Zelda says that I have “The Gift.” That means that I’m going to be a great matchmaker, and it probably means that I can know things that can’t be known. Just like my grandma. She knows who should be matched with who, and she also knows what the weather’s going to be weeks in advance. Some people call that a Third Eye. Some people call it psychic. Some people call it weird. I’m betting Grandma is wrong. The only “gift” I’ve had in my life is not being able to hold down a job. I might have a commitment problem. But I’m helping her out in the matchmaking business, anyway. So far, I haven’t made a match, and now after our neighbor across the street fell, hit his head, and died, I can’t stop thinking that maybe his death was no accident. Maybe it was murder. I may have commitment issues, but I seem totally committed to finding out if he was murdered and who murdered him. The annoying Chief of Police—who unfortunately turns my insides into molten estrogen jelly—thinks I should be committed for sticking my nose in where it doesn’t belong. Luckily, another neighbor is just as hot as the Chief, and he’s more than happy to support my sleuthing. Ditto my best friends Bridget and Lucy. It’s a toss-up if I’ll solve this mystery, get killed in the process, get arrested, or find true love. An Affair to Dismember is the first book in the Matchmaker Mysteries series. It is a humorous and romantic small-town mystery. Matchmaker Mysteries…Sometimes love comes with a few dead ends.
It’s exit stage left, permanently, for a big-time director who lands the starring role in an unscripted death scene . . . Desperate to find a director for their annual production, the Fox Hollow Players have a stroke of luck when Shell McMillan’s actress mother lands a prominent theater director for the job. He’s more gruff and demanding than the small-town cast and crew are used to, but his soft side for animals quickly endears him to pet shop owner Shell. Persuading her to let him use a shed on her property where he can work in peace, Shell is horrified when she finds his dead body there. And with obvious signs of foul play, she can’t help but investigate the murder. As she digs into the man’s past, it becomes apparent that at one point or another he was romantically entangled with just about every woman involved in the play. And just when Shell discovers he may have been blackmailing one of them, other clues surface that suggest a more sinister motive. With her hands already full with a beautiful stray cat she found and christened Princess Fuzzypants, Shell will have to fill two roles, caring for the Maine coon and trying to track down the killer before it’s her turn for a fatal curtain call . . . There is a dark history in southwest Ohio that some people would much rather forget. A riot tore through downtown Cincinnati in 1884, a fire burned relentlessly at the Salvation Army orphanage on Front Street, and one of the largest mass murders in history occurred in a small, unassuming home in Hamilton. Many of these tragedies have begun to fade away, forgotten in dusty books hidden on library shelves. The spirits of those involved in these tragedies, though, are not so easily forgotten. Many of the most popular historic sites and some of the lesser-known and forgotten corners of southwest Ohio are haunted by the spirits of those who lived and died there. Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio examines the ghostly history of more than 30 such locations. It tells ghost stories and reports historic events from area theaters, cemeteries, museums, parks, roads, railroad tracks, and even a castle through narrative and photographs. Perhaps the ghosts are history's way of remembering the past--even those dark corners of the past that few would like to relive.

This delightfully intriguing pair of full-length mysteries by award-winning author Carolyn G. Hart delivers a novel approach to murder that is sure to enthrall you until the last killer is caught.. . . Death on Demand At Annie Laurance’s Death on Demand bookstore in Broward’s Rock, South Carolina (“the finest mystery bookstore north of Miami”), murder suddenly isn’t confined to the shelves. An author’s abrupt demise during a gathering of famous mystery writers is proof positive that a bloody sword is sometimes mightier than a brilliant pen. But now Annie is in the unenviable position of prime suspect, which means that she and her wealthy paramour, Max Darling, must unmask a brutal and ingenious killer. For Annie, failing could mean prison . . . while success could mean her death. Design for Murder When Annie stages a Mystery Night for Chastain, South Carolina’s annual antebellum house tour, she finds herself the lead in a deadly drama wherein the curtain falls on a mean-spirited grande dame. But while fingers point at Annie as the murderer, the perpetrator lurks within the cast of Murder-Most-Make-Believe. Guilty until proven innocent, Annie hopes to clear her name with Max’s help—until her chief witness is killed. Now it will take all of Annie’s sleuthing skills to unmask the evil in the hearts of Chastain’s Beautiful People.
A person can be brought into bondage in two different ways: by force or by his own will. Force is a crude way of bringing a person into submission, but using the persons own free will can be done sophistically and covertly. Under the banner of democracy and freedom, America has been under the bondage of what E. Michael Jones has aptly called sexual liberation and political control for over fifty years. In the first two volumes of the trilogy, Alexis explored these ideological themes. In this last volume, he expands on some of those pernicious ideas, emphasizing how Zionism, for over sixty years, has shaken the moral, philosophical, and intellectual foundation of much of Western culture. The Iraq War alone will cost America at least six trillion dollars, and as if to prove that America is still in bondage, the oppressors continue to use sophisticated means to seduce Americans so that perpetual wars will never cease to exist in the Middle East and in much of the world. This book will seek to address these and related issues and, in the process, tell us something about the fundamental nature of reality and how to approach this cosmic conflict, which has dominated the West for over a thousand years.
