With the rising use of the Internet, online research has become increasingly popular and has been further accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This relatively new realm of scientific inquiry has afforded social scientists novel research opportunities and methodological flexibility, as it embraces an array of traditional research designs and data collection methods. This paper presents a case study focusing on a qualitative research study that was redesigned to be conducted online with the use of synchronous (real-time) online video interviews to meet physical distancing and safety requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
